Will the Eagles ever win a game with Kolb at the helm....?

Eagles season ticket holder here. Probably haven't missed 5 seconds of Eagles football in the last year. Did you watch the game on Sunday? Kolb inherited an 11 point deficit. He then took the Eagles to the 6 inch line at which point Andy Reid blew a delay of game call and they settled for 3. Then he took them to the 20 and Lesean McCoy fumbled. Then he scored a TD. Then with 1:00 left and no timeouts he drove the field and hit Jason Avant who got both hands on the football before dropping it in the endzone.

Michael Vick is not a good quarterback. The Eagles are not a good football team. Your judgment of Kevin Kolb is incorrect.

The Eagles defense allowed 3 points the rest of the game after Kolb entered (0 in the second half) and he still could only bring them within 5. He is not the quarterback you're thinking...... he's going to be on a different team within 2 years if you ask me because he doesn't have what it takes to lead the Eagles.

Loopy I am not trying to say that Kolb is going to be the next Joe Montana, and if Vick stays healthy and productive than you are correct about Kolb being somewhere else.

But there are people out there who think this guy is completely worthless and think Vick is some kind of savior. Kolb is finally going to get about 8 quarters here to prove himself. We can't judge him until that happens. There is only one certainty for the Eagles right now at QB, Vick is not going to win you a Super Bowl.

Diehard Eagles fan .. they will win, just not many right now. McCoy is hurt, 49ers are desperate for a W .. If kolb can connect with celek and we run some end arounds, wr screens to djack ( creative play calling) which is a rarity with andy and marty m .. we will move the ball ... but i am not too confident right now. As far as betting them, Fantasy wise etc .. im staying away for the time being.

Stewart Bradley's health at mlb is crucial to the D keeping games close until McCoy comes back and the O starts clicking (kolb or vick)

LOL what.... You can't be serious. With Vick the Eagles win that game. Kolb could not have looked any worse IMO, he didn't complete a pass of more than 5 yards!!!

Yea, kolb looked like Sanchez in week 1 vs bmore .. check down check down ... so frustrating ... i havent looked at anything yet and i will most likely have more attention on the phils than birds sunday night but .. UNDER would be my only play in a SLOP game in San Fran

I think we'll see a different Kolb this week. He was not expecting to get into that game, and may not have taken a lot of reps with the first team during the week. I think with a week to prepare he will look a lot better.

Pretty heartfelt analysis from an iggles fan here. I concur.

Nevertheless, it's way too early to tell. Realistically, we don't know how a QB's career will play out until defenses know how to scheme against him, that's when the real test comes. Kolb hasn't played enough to even have a book out on him yet. Time will tell.

He's not that bad at all actually. He's doing what we saw out of Sanchez in Week 1, playing afraid to make a mistake. I think he's going to come out and play with some balls this week for a change, sure he'll turn it over once or twice but he'll also put up some decent numbers. He'll be just fine

Please quit saying he when referring to Kolb like he did such an awesome job. He dumped off 2 yard passes and the running backs did the work with their legs. Captain checkdown was too reluctant to go down field. I realize the playbook could have very well been shrunken for him since he hasnt seen much playing time and wasnt in a good situation last Sunday but I have a hard time believing nobody was open downfield the entire time he was behind center. I hope he does well, time will tell.

No he's not bad as some make him out to be, I like him. He hasnt hardly played much in four years, he just needs playing time.
