Giants vs Bears

I am a die-hard G-men fan, but am completely baffled by the line I saw today...Giants -5? Really? I know the bears are 1 play from losing to the Lions and beat the Packers barely (considering how many penalties the Packers commited) but how are they this big of a dog? Giants look like absolute crap right now and ar having internal problems.

This is one of those lines that if I were to bet, I would have to bet Giants just because - What the hell is Vegas thinking?

Bears have to lose 1, period. I think that's the reasoning. Also I think alot of power ranking systems are out of whack at the moment so the books haven't adjusted yet. The only reasons the Giants lose this one is if they keep self imploding. Remember public teams blowing up very publically always look bad for beating spreads even at home.

I agree that it looks way out of whack on paper, and thats why the G men will win it running away.....

I see this game as similar to the Cowboys/Texans game last week. Desperate teams are safe bets at this point.

Giants are coming off an embarrassing loss in a game in which they moved the ball well, but played sloppy too. They are in a bit of a must-win mode since after the Bears game they are away at Houston. To start the season 1-4 would be crippling.............Martz might come out the gates with the same Offensive play calling that worked vs. the Cowboys since I'm sure the Giants Front 7 can dominate the Bears O-line, but Cutler won't be getting pressured if he gets rid of the ball quickly like he did vs. the Cowboys. I think the Bears 3-0 start is really a Joke

Far as I can tell, it opened at -3 and went UP to -4. I suppose it could drop back down, but I have never seen it higher than -4 anywhere, so it has not dropped.

This is what I'm banking on as well. Bears are the worst 3-0 team to come along in a long time. In crunch time (and I believe it is for Giants), I'll take Eli 10 out of 10 times over Cutler.
