Dallas? Ok. Philly? No way. Pitt? Yes, sir. Pats? Always. Jets? Why not?

Plenty of other contenders, though:

Colts, Packers, Saints-Gotta include the big 3 chalk favorites, right?
Phins, Ravens, Texans, Bears, Falcons-Dark horse teams that could peak at the right time.
Chargers, Giants, Vikings-Teams with all the pieces, they just gotta fit it together and want it.

I feel like all of sports under rate philadelphia teams.. it makes me sad. this board did it to the phillies back in july when the phillies are the 2 time defending national league champions.. i know I am a phillu fan.. but they NEVER get the credit they deserve...

The Eagles WILL always be a contender every year. they have been one for the last 10 years!!!! Will they make it to the superbowl? prob not.. but this board is silly...

I will tell you thing I do know.. you'll find ouit the Eagles defense is underrated.. they struggled against the Lions without Stewart Bradley. They played very good against the Packers in the first half before Bradley got injured..

Chargers are always there. they start off slow every year
Pats defense is too bad to win
Kansas City may surprise people..

Saints

I would say top 2 are Steelers and Colts.. anybodies game in the list above for the NFC.. but I do think Eagles are capable in putting it together. I know this team very well and can see the potential

I wish they could. I think they need a new OC but they have a bigger problem. Palmers arm has looked like garbage so far. Last year he at least had an excuse, no protection and no one to throw too. Ever since his arm surgery his decision making and accuracy have gone down hill and right now they are at an all time low.

All the old timers know I'm a Colt guy. I better see this Colt team improve in the running game (especially) and defensively before I would even mention them getting back to the super bowl. It is fun watching Manning dissect defenses, but I sure wish we had more talented linebackers than 9 pretty good receivers down field. Then again, Manning puts the ball where Gold could catch them, too. It is also kind of a new thing to see so many people mention Indianapolis in a thread like this on the forums. Times are changing.

It is to early to have a good handle on which teams 'Will Be' contenders. Teams like the Pats, Steelers, Colts, Saints are more apt to get lazy (maybe just a positional guy at the wrong time), whereas some of these teams have improved and will play with a very valuable element(s) all season long: That being heart, passion and desire because they Want it very bad (more than most other favorites), recognition and a title.

I looked back through this thread and a lot of people mentioned the Packers.


Also, you gotta remember that the Cowboys were coming off a season where their defense was starting to look championship calibre, whereas GB's defense not so great especially in that Arizona game fiasco. I'm not sure if anyone could have predicted such a profound Dallas meltdown that we saw in the middle of last season either. Dallas did come back with a nice 5-3 run to finish the season with Jason Garrett, so I wouldn't count them out going into next season.
