Official to whoever likes the 49ers tonight
I see alot of "im pounding the 9ers". "the 9ers are the play here", "sharps on 9ers", please SOMEBODY give me a compelling argument as to why the saints wont cover here. Saints have had 11 days to prep for this, Alex smith vs. Greg Williams, Brees vs. this Secondary.....shall i keep going.

SOMEONE PLEASE, A LOGICAL ARGUMENT FOR THE 49ers. JUST ONE

    You all have men feeling

3 fumbles bye pierre thomas? 3 int's courtesy of Drew Brees??....

I see this as i saw the Nebraska Vs Washington game this past weekend. "oh its a trap game", "Suckers bet", Home field advantage and time zone change were the best arguments i heard....

waiting....... Dont say, "If frank Gore......", If AP woulda gaped a hole in Greg William's ass last week, the vikings would have won. Now whose better, AP or Frank Gore....exactly. Do not base your arguments off of "if" because if I had a money tree......

Thank you for your post. I don't get it either. Argument on SF seems to built entirely on hypotheticals, anticipation, sharps vs squares, and what could happen....49ers could get their act together, Saints could come out flat, etc. I don't necessarily have capping skill some others do on here, but Niners pick seems like it's built on a house of cards to me...very fragile. Saints are superior team, with extra rest, and no reason not to be motivated in week 2 of season. 49ers and their qb were dreadful last week against a team that is going nowhere. I will play the much better team with the much better qb and take my chances, while the sharp vs square debate rages on this forum until gametime.

Saints should obviously roll here. Seahawks stomped em last week. Or not.

To base one's assessment of a team on last week's performance is a sure recipe for losing your shirt in the NFL. To wit: San Diego, New York Giants, Cincinnati, New England, Tennessee yesterday. There is a reason that the 49ers are (still) favored to win their division, and there is a reason that expectations have been so high this year. The offesne has potent weapons; the defense has the best player in the NFL on that side of the ball; and the team, before their loss last week, seemed to have the chemistry and cohesion necessary to make a sustained run at a championship. The 49ers have the most talent they've had in many seasons. The red zone defense should be crushing. They will prove to be a very tough team to run against. Meanwhile, New Orleans, that offensive juggernaut, scored exactly as many points against the Vikings defense as the Dolphins did. The Dolphins! And, the Saints have a totally crappy defense and are a road favorite on Monday Night Football, historically a very bad position to be in.

                                There. There's an argument.

But I will base my assessment on the Nawlins saints being the defending superbowl champs, Brees being one of the best QBs in the league, Sean Payton being an excellent coach, Etc Etc. San Fransissys Mike Singletary is off his meds.

This game could go one of two ways:

                                                    1. Monday Night Football crowd energizes a San Francisco defense that plays out of its mind, shutting down a New Orleans offense that didn't play very well at home vs. Minnesota.

                                                    2. The Monday Night Football crowd gets taken out of the game by enough Alex Smith mistakes that New Orleans can take control without much opposition.

In my opinion, there is an equal chance of either scenario playing out.

Always a tough call for a team traveling west for MNF...

The Saints defense is under rated. They are the exact reason why the offense can score so many points in a a single game. They create turnovers and create havoc for one dimensional teams like San Fran. I expect a game like last nights between Indy and the Giants. Indy scored fast and forced the Giants to throw the ball and get out of there element. The Colts let them have the run once they scored a few.

^plausible, and i love your signature by the way. ACC football...ouch. That being said, I just want someone to propose a concrete argument, nothing based off of hypotheticals. I appreciate the input and you could very well be right, but i see that as falling under that category of hypothetical.
