Advice for the new guy???

i see a lot of people liking the chiefs at +4.5... it's up to +6 at my book now. can anyone convince me to take the chargers -6 ?? i'm relatively new to this game and trying to learn the ins and outs and how to NOT get manipulated. doing ok so far, 4-3-2 in NFL this week, not so wonderful. went 6-3 in NCAA on saturday. any advice is welcome on either the KC/SD game or betting in general. thanks in advance to those giving serious answers.

I just like the over in this game. The only reason charger is not a recommand play here is it is week 1. If this is week 5, bet morgage on that. They kill the cheifs last season.

new guy heres some advice. its weeks one. the chiefs are playing at home have a great running game which can keep any team in the game and have matt cassel whos becoming a pretty good quarterback. this is football the chargers arn't going to just come out and dominate like the other post on here said if its week 5 bet big on chargers. but otherwise dont let the points fool you. if the line was -3 you would assume the chiefs arn't too bad and if the chiefs were at a pick game people would be giving some more respect to the chiefs. however the higher the line the more negative feelings toward the underdog recieves. if the line was -8 people would expect big things from the chargers. the line is just a game to help vegas win. its not about making things even or fair. so dont ever get fooled by lines. make your own line in your head before it comes out then go by that line.

so tonight i would reccomend you take the chiefs at that +6 that you were getting.

also go big on the ravens... its week 1 and rex single handidly made this line higher than what it should be. i believe its at -2 or -1.5 right now and its atleast going the right direction. dont get fooled by this line either. vegas had to make the jets a favorite being at home. its monday night both teams are at home and the ravens are the better squad.

take the raven at +2 if possible and take the chiefs at your +6

thanks capper123... i suppose i should trust my own feelings on the games rather than try to react to the line. i already got the ravens at +3 several days ago. i like the under in that game a lot too.
