    Risk vs. Reward
This is my first post guys and I'm wondering if I can get some opinions on risk vs. reward. I love the two favorites to win this week and I like the over in the Packers game. I was thinking about betting a 3 team parlay however, I'm not sure I love the lines. A 3 team 6 point teaser pays +180 at my Sportsbook and the lines sound great to me (GB pk, NE -8 and GB Over 36) but is a 3 team teaser kind of a "sucker" bet. I would love to get the opinion of some more experienced gamblers.

Also do you think the lines will move against the favorites closer to the game so would it be better to make my bets now?

    Go Packers!

I personally think 3 team parlays and teasers are both sucker bets. The word "teaser" just gives it away. There will be people that tell you otherwise but I for one dont agree with it at all. I tracked all my bets for years and never came out ahead on either one. All I do is bet straight bets and come out a lot better that way. There will be times you say damn I would have hit a parlay but the times that one loss screws you will happen more often.

By the way I like both favorites here also. I will just increase my bets with just 2 games this week. Good Luck

I agree with the pokernut (almost) teasers are for the strip club. I do like parlays but not during the playoffs. Having typed that your teaser seems pretty solid, but thats why they're called teasers. I would maybe change the N.E. to S.D+20

Most teasers are bad bets because people play three+ teams and often cross numbers that provide them virtually no value.

If you're going to do a tease, don't tease more than two teams, and cross key numbers like the 3 and 7. Tease favorites of -7.5 to -8.5 and small dogs of 1.5 to 2.5. You can find 6pt two team teases at +100 at two different books, or -110 most places.

Those are the only teases I recommend doing at all, none of these huge multi-team teases with spreads that are already giving you the 3 and 7.

NFL Teasers have tremendous value if played at the right spots and the odds are set correctly. A few years back it was virtually stealing when the books offered 7 pointers at even money ties push or 4 team 6 pointers at 3 to 1.

          Lots of value....

Most books have caught up and adjusted the odds.

Best thing to do... Download closing lines and match against scores for past 5 or 6 years. Back into odds and seaqrch around to find books who offer odds that are better than break even.

Can make a fortune from small books who try to entice players with "special" odds. Just hope they pay.
