Hey guys, I'm new to SBR and have really enjoyed reading everyone's commentary and look forward to following cappers' picks throughout the season.
Week 1 Picks:
Tennessee -6 -- 2 units
Tennessee's no-name defense will be solid all season long and will out-match Oakland's weak offense, especially with the underperforming Jason Campbell at the helm. Many attribute his lack of performance in Washington to annual changes in OCs and the terrible offensive line. However, I've watched the Skins closely and have noticed that Campbell stares down receivers, has no pocket presence, and has no leadership ability. On the offensive side, it's obvious to call out the formidable running game but I think Vince Young will be a much more polished QB this year and will start out with efficient play against the Raiders.
NE/Cincy over 45 -- 2 units
Lots of good debate on the spread in this game. I lean towards the bengals but think the over is the play here with two great passing attacks. Palmer will be a pro-bowl QB this year and both teams will score at least 20-25 points.
Baltimore +3 -- 2 units
Baltimore will likely win this one outright, even on the road, against the over-hyped Jets. There's too much talent on both sides of the ball, and the addition of Bolden finally completes their offensive package.
Other plays:
Chiefs +4x -- 1 unit
Chiefs ML -- 1 unit
Miami -3 -- 1 unit
San Francisco -3 -- 1 unit (I don't feel great about this one)
Parlay NYG ML, Tenn ML, NE ML, Baltimore ML -- 1 unit
Good luck all!
