Anyone here think this NFL game was boring?
I consider NFL football the best sport to watch out of all the sports. Baseball i consider boring because of how long the season is and how slow things are. The NBA is good to watch but regular season games don't matter much since they play many games. I was very excited for the football season this year and tonight because football is finally back. I don't know why but this game was an extremely boring game. It was low scoring which was probably why but even when the Saints scored the first touchdown of the game, something didn't felt right about the season.

I even saw someone mentioned they wanted to cancel their Direct TV if games were going to be this boring. I mean nothing at all was exciting about this game. When it was the 2 minute warning on, and even before the announcers could say anything, the running back went by the Vikings players and got the first down and Al Michaels said well they got the first down and the game was pretty much over. There was no suspense what so ever. Not even a 3rd down attempt to see if the Vikes were going to stop the Saints and then get the ball back for Favre to get one final attempt.

Anyone else considered this NFL season opener boring? I know 9 minutes of the clock went by quickly when the Vikes kept running the ball in the 2nd quarter but this game just ended so fast. I think the Saints fans were so surprised they got the 1st down in the first play of the 2 minute warning when it was 2nd and 6 and saints fans must have went, oh wow that was it?? Saints are going to win it just that easily?

It's hard to compare a week 1 regular season game vs the NFC championship game. The drama and stakes are nowhere near the same. Also, when it comes to just watching 1 game we must sit through all the commercials and stoppages. On Sundays it's non-stop try-to-keep up action all day due to so many games.

I found this game just fine. There was plenty of intrigue on both sides of the ball. Now if this was a primetime game with the Browns/Bucs then I'd defo agree with you. I would have to have a lot of $$$$ on the game to get me excited.

I find even Lions/Rams games exciting.
Granted, NFL games can be cut down into 20 minutes capsules of action - it's how it all unfolds that makes it so exciting. Moving 11 men on each side of the ball for a 3-7 second play is a lot of fun to watch.

Wasn't that great, neither team really executed well. The poor officiating may have had something to do with it.
