Last year I picked Green Bay because I saw what people see in Aaron Rodgers THIS year last year, and I expected Dom Capers to turn around that defense... Now everybody is picking the Pack, they have some injuries in their secondary and when everybody picks a team it is not good news... Last year offseason the Packers were a 6-10 team that was considered a "sleeper"... I called into numerous radio shows and argued for the Pack... This off season the Pack went from "contenders" to "Chalk". This year I am taking a 25/1 team to go the bowl that is flying under the radar in a major way and that team is the GIANTS.

The Giants made the playoffs every single year Eli Manning has been the starting QB but last year, and I expect them to bounce back. In one year they ended super bowl champs, two years ago they were the 13-3 #1 seed, and last year the defense fell apart and the team missed the playoffs. The Giants will make the playoffs in a tough NFC East this year and make their way through the playoffs.

The Giants biggest problems last year were MLB/Safety play and Gerry addressed that. Jonathan Goff was the worst MLB in the league hands down last year, and now the G-Men Bring in a perrenial pro bowler Keith Bullock to take his spot. The team may have overpaid for A. Rolle to come play safety, but he's clearly above average and they clearly had horrible S last year. They also get back Kenny Phillips from injury, he looked good in preseason, and they added depth with Deion Grant. The Giants also added ANOTHER play maker on the D-Line with the 1st round pick, Rocky Bernard looks to be in better shape, and Chris Canty is healthy. Last year people were talking about how much talent the front 7 had and to be honest they underperformed but they they are deeper and have more guys closer to their primes this year.

On offense, the WR core was very raw ( Yes I am looking at you Mario Manningham), but it looks like Hakeen Nicks will get a larger role in the offense as he performed very well for a rookie last year. He will be more of a big play threat, while Steve Smith is a fantastic possession receiver security blanket, Kevin Boss is a big target, and the Giants have guys who can play in the slot.

The Giants O-Line took a step back last year, but they add some depth with former pro bowler S. Andrews. I think the Giants 0-line can play better next year but they do have injury risk as they have been very healthy for 2 years in a row now, but have been able to break guys in like Boothe/Whimper when need be and they will have Andrews on the bench for depth.

Everybody is picking Dallas to win the East, but the Giants flew under the radar and that's usually when that team is at their best. They addressed their major weaknesses and were one of the youngest teams in the NFL when they won the Super Bowl 3 years ago and have lots of good young players and a GM that knows what he is doing.

Best of luck. I still see the Packers or Saints winning the Super Bowl.

So does anybody think the Jets are overrated yet, San Fran is overrated, or the Titans or Giants are underrated yet?

I'm on Packers to win it all.

I think its to early in the season to say Jets or 49ers are overrated but you could very well be right in a couple of weeks time.

I picked the Packers to win it all last year when they had 30-1 and 35-1 odds... Now they are chalk and they have injuries in their secondary. I was on a radio show arguing for the Pack many of the arguments people make today, and the announcer didn't believe me... I told him Aaron Rodgers was the real deal and that the Packers D had talent and that Dom Capers was going to turn them around but he didn't believe me.

Looks like I got some of the 2nd and 3rd place teams flipped but I do stand by SF being overrated and Mike Singeltary getting fired, and I still think the Colts win it all.

Only a FOOL will be set in his ways, you need to lose your EGO and admit when you are wrong sometimes...

I was WRONG on the Jets being over hyped
I pat myself on the back for saying the 49ers are over hyped

Giants/Titans as being BETTER than expectations looks decent so far.
