what is the rule on getting the next play off?

Say you are the colts QB. And you just scored a touchdown. Can you tell your offensive players to hurry up and run down to the 2 yard line and line up to go for the extra 2 points? Or does the offense have to wait for the defense to get ready? In other words, when is it legal for the offense to snap the ball after a play is over?

I am wondering this because if a play starts it is too late for the other team to throw the challenge flag.
