If that's true...shows you how bad they must think of him to not even try and get a draft pick of any kind for a former number one

Leinart to be released; where will he go?
Matt Leinart has less than four hours remaining in his disappointing Cardinals career. According to Jay Glazer, the organization has told Leinart that he’ll be released later today. Ken Whisenhunt has decided to go with Max Hall as the backup to Derek Anderson.
Leinart will be free to join any team, though he’ll have to be willing to do so as a backup. Earlier this week, the Raiders, Giants and Bills were rumored to have interest.
Don’t overlook the Seahawks as a possible destination for the former Heisman Trophy winner. Pete Carroll, we’ll assume, is a Leinart fan. Seattle just parted ways with J.P. Losman. Of course, the Seahawks also invested fairly heavily in Charlie Whitehurst over the offseason. If Leinart were to sign there, he’d likely be settling for zero playing time in 2010 and a mere promise for a chance to compete for the task of replacing Matt Hasselbeck in 2011. (And that’s assuming the Seahawks decide to replace Hasselbeck in 2011.)

He should try and hook on with the Raiders....beating out Campbell wouldn't be too tough and he's in California again.

That should say something to another team thinking of taking a chance with him.

I am not surprised, when Whisenhunt was the off coord for pitt steelers he had serious issues with big ben too, big ben was super motivated to really **** him hard in the ass in the super bowl 2 years ago and he did
Whisenhunt = SHIT!

No back up? They dont even have a qualified starter. Derek Anderson is beyond terrible He posted a worse QB rating than Jamaracus Russel The last two years, Arizona is going to win 4 games this year.
With the Under at 7.5 and +125 in the SBR book, its like free points -

I went to their training camp a few weeks ago. The drives with Leinart in charge were dull. The drives with Anderson were a little better, but not much. The QB that really lit up the field was fourth stringer Max Hall. Everybody was like 'who is that guy?!' I thought then that Leinart could be dropped in favor of Hall. Even though Hall isn't ready yet for the number one spot, Whiz has to look beyond this season, so to me Anderson is just an interim QB. Hall has impressed people around the organization tremendously. He's shown flashes of Warner and Favre... If this kid keeps developing like he has, the Cards have something special. Leinart was never going to be special.

Overrated out of college, he will resurface soon enough. Once the injuries start he could be starting somewhere else. He's better than some QB's out there.

Leinart is a great qb. First snap he took as a starter in college he was great. Only thing missing is playing with great players. Leinart will be ok once he gets away from Whisinhunter.

I saw this coming while this kid was in College. Whoever was going to draft him was wasting their pick and time and $$! I could have been the QB for that team with all the NFL talent that surrounded him in college playing against the Pac-10.

The team totally gave up on him. If he has any chance at a professional career, he needs a fresh start with a new team.

A total bust, a waste of time and money. If Arizona spent the money on getting a good offensive line that they spent on Leinart, Warner would have played at least another season and maybe had more than 1 super bowl run. Leinart also single handedly kept Arizona from getting a 1st round bye this past season, as well as getting Boldin injured and missing all of last year's playoffs. This cancer should have been removed long ago.

I can't believe that they couldn't work out a trade with another team to at least get a future 2nd or 3rd round pick for him.

Why would anyone trade valuable picks for that contract? Common sense would be to wait, because Arizona has to pay whatever his new team doesn't pay him.
He lost his job to Derek Anderson and a bunch of rookie QB's. It's pretty obvious Leinart just sucks to take that risk.
