Bottom line is it is the first game of the NFL season and even though the line looks right I will bet it out of pure celebration. There is only one side in this game. Superbowl champs seem to always win this Thursday game to open the season. We have seen it with the Steelers last year, Giants year before, and many years prior. Have to go with the Saints.

I know, I know, it's the Rams. But come on. Who is going to throw the ball for Arizona? Matt Leinart is unhappy with the team and it seems to be just a matter of time before he is out the door. Really? Are you going to hinge your hopes on the arm of Derek Anderson who has one good year in the NFL to his credit? He didn't look great in the pre-season and I think the Cardinals change to a more run heavy offense is completley nessecary. However, I think it plays right into the hands of Steve Spagnuolo's defense. The Rams have been terrible but they are poised for a bit of a turnaround. They still have Steven Jackson and Sam Bradford has showed some great ability from what I have seen out of him in the pre-season. I think the Cards are headed for the cellar of the NFC West. You lose Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, Antrel Rolle, Karlos Dansby, and your going to start without Larry Fitzgerald? What do you expect? You have no quarterback and two question marks at runningback. Atleast the Rams can hand it to Steven Jackson when in doubt. Just see the Rams matching last years win total in Week 1. Cardinals will be a good fade against bad teams this year. Think the Rams take this won 24-10.

ok the cardinals have issues at qb but thye are playing the rams a team who won one game last season do yoy really think they will level what they achieved in a whole year in jst one week.. never imo
i will sit back and watch the rams for 4-5 weeks before betting with them

Yea, they are playing the Rams, so what? If you sit back for 4-5 weeks and watch before betting the Rams your going to lose out on the value. The Cardinals are going to have an awful year. I can see the Rams going 5-11.

Giver i agree cardinals are going to be shit and my Lambs are going to improve no doubt, but i just need a few more points i think, everyone is feeling stl now cause Bradford has looked very good...if there one thing i know about my rams is this game has under written all over it...ignore what zona did in preseason passing all the time as they were just looking to see who there qb was gonna be when the chips are down both these teams are gonna lean heavily on there run games and i think zona d good enough to limit the rams offensively..you certainly could be on the right side here but my money will be on under 39....GL my friend

I don't neccesarily think the Cards will be shit. Whisenhunt is a good coach and the team is going to change for sure... Less medium passes, probably more short passes, and more running the ball. I think Wisenhunt and Grimm and John Lott have wanted the Cards to be in the image of the Steelers team they left... They want a big O-Line, smash mouth football... Beanie Wells and an upgrading of the offensive line....

I just don't like the NFCW in General and am not impressed by SF, I think Arizona or Seattle could win the West and I'm more inclined to say Arizona.

but I do think you have to be careful to bet against home dogs, and Arizona at -4 doesn't wow me. You don't know what you are going to get from that team.

Good idea but more short passes/running doesn't always mean unders/less scoring. Sometimes not being able to execute medium passes means drive killers, incomplete passes etc. Plus, if you can run late in a game you can put teams away with late TDs. But yes, I do think Zona is a lower scoring team this year.

You also have to think, is Whisenhunt going to try and score/run up the score if he could to prove a point? The guy seems like he doesn't want to out think himself, but that Under might be worth a look, good call.

I'm going to hop onto the small Eagles bandwagon for this game. Sure the Packers are the "sexy" team this year and I do beleive they have the talent to be Super Bowl contenders but I feel like this is a good spot for the Eagles to get a good win to start the year. The Packers haven't won in Philadelphia since 2000 and I don't know if the Packers are going to be able to run the ball well enough to be a great road team this year. Sure, you can argue Rodgers is all they need but anyone who watched Rodgers last year saw that he is a completley different quarterback when the other team is getting pressure. The Eagles love to blitz and may just be the best blitzing team in the NFC, if the Packers front can't slow down the Eagles rush the Eagles will run away with this game. It's interesting how little faith people havin Kevin Kolb, the kid showed he can play in the NFL last year. In the two games he got substantial playing time in he completed 60% and 70% of his passes throwing for 391 and 327 yards and 5 touchdowns while adding a rushing score. The Eagles should win this game and the fact they are 3 point home dogs only makes it that much sweeter. I don't expect many people to agree with this play but I know the books don't give out free money.

Steelers +3 (-120) (1x)
The Steelers are tough at home and I don't think the Big Ben factor hurts them in this game as much as it would against another opponent. The Falcons aren't the type to throw up a ton of points on the board so the Steelers defense should be able to keep them close. I also think we will see a lot of running on the Steelers part and when you add in Dixons running ability on those 3rd and short plays I think the Steelers could move the ball against the Falcons. I think this one will be close and that field goal is going to be huge. The Steelers remain tough against the run and if they can stuff the Turner/Snelling/Norwood combo it could be a long day for Ryan with Troy running around the defensive backfield. Dixon should play better at home then he did on the road in Baltimore in his lone NFL start. If he is average the Steelers should get the win in this one.

Giants offensive line has had some issues this pre-season with both injuries and performance. Last year they slowly evolved into a more pass heavy team and if that is the case again this year (without Jacobs running hard it is) they will struggle against the 4th ranked pass defense in the league. I don't know what to think of this Carolina offense. Matt Moore has showed flashes of being a capable QB but I just don't think this Giants defense will be giving up much. They were tough last year but always seemed to give up the big play. Well, with a healthy Kenny Phillips, Corey Webster, Aaron Ross, Terrell Thomas and the addition of Antrel Rolle I think they will limit those big plays. The Giants always play the run tough and I think Chris Canty finally comes around in this one. This should be a 21-17 type of game.

Have fun buying into the Bengals passing attack guys. It won't happen. Chad is overrated and TO is passed his prime. Carson Palmer, well, is Carson Palmer. I think if they run the ball 30 times a game they will be ok but not in this one. The Pats play the run solid and if Benson can't carry the load this team will struggle. I think after Brady signing his new deal we will see some fireworks out of the Pats who are looking to make up for a year last year where they were very inconsistent.

Love this one. The Browns covered seven straight to close the season and looked like a completley different team in the proccess. Jerome Harrison is a player and if they continue to hand him the ball 30 times a game they will fare very well. The Bucs aren't good enough to be favored against anyone and I would be shocked to see them show up in this one.
