Browns entertaining deals for Anderson

Coach Romeo Crennel revealed that the Browns will listen to offers for impending restricted free agent Derek Anderson this offseason.

The Browns will at least place the first- and third-round tender on Anderson, and may go as far as franchise tagging him. "Sometimes people can make you an offer and you can say, 'No, I think I'm going to stick with what I've got,'" said Crennel. "Sometimes they make you an offer and you say, 'Oooh!'" The most likely scenario remains Cleveland keeping Anderson for at least one more year. Brady Quinn's $9 million deal is very workable for a backup. Jan. 1 - 12:02 pm et

I was just reading about that. They might as well test the waters and field some offers. They finally have a QB in Cleveland though, guy is talented, perfectly built QB at 6'6'' 230, they'll probably hang onto him.

If they don't, probably will become one of those deals where in 5 years they look like jackasses and he's winning the big game.

yeah, imo the reward is not worth the risk. you have a young QB that can win in the league....i wouldnt mess with that.

Brady Quinn is the future of the browns.. They had to give up a 1st round pick for him.. Anderson choked against the bengals of all teams and I think Anderson will choke again next year. Its time for the browns and Anderson to part ways.

no problem man. as for TTP, he gives people shtt, but hes really one of the best guys i know, from these forums, off the boards. he wouldnt want me to say that here, but it is what it is. a persons principles matter more to me than anything else about them, and hes a fav of mine. i do, however, understand your posts to him, give him hell.

i was sweating that one out more than any game i bet on. I love the vols, i have since i was about 4. they really didnt play well, but they got the win. i dont think they're the most soundly coached team in the country, but they mananged to get out of Florida with a win. im glad they stepped up for you!

What a crazy game..I thought for a second the vols were gonna blow it.. I had my eyes closed on that last play.. I put down a lot of money on the vols today.... In the end it worked out.. I'm pretty sure they would've won by a lot more if lucas taylor had played..

yeah they really missed mccoy, bolden and taylor. i couldnt believe fulmer left jones in a QB on a 3rd and 7. i also couldnt believe that awful trick play they tried at the wisc 11 that resulted in a lost fumble. at the end of the day, they did just enough to win. knowing you won a good bit on it, makes it even better.

Yea, that was stupid to leave jones in on 3rd down.. They ended getting no points on that drive.. The fumble on the trick play pissed me off as well.. Lookin foward to the fiesta bowl tommorow.. Who are you leaning toward?
