    Vinny "terrible" Testaverde Retires
It's about time that Vinny "terrible" Testaverde retired. I can only hope it's for good this time around.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- After 21 seasons, Vinny Testaverde has had enough.

The 44-year-old quarterback said Saturday that he'll retire after Carolina's season finale at Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Testaverde was out of the league until the Panthers, desperate for quarterback help after injuries to Jake Delhomme and David Carr, signed him on Oct. 10. Four days and only three practices later, Testaverde became the oldest QB to win a game when he led the Panthers to a victory at Arizona.

Testaverde started six games for Carolina and completed 94 of 172 passes for 952 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. But his body wore down late in the season, and he was sidelined by back pain and a right Achilles tendon injury that kept him out of games and practices the past month of the season.

The 1986 Heisman Trophy winner, Testaverde was the No. 1 overall pick by Tampa Bay in the 1987 draft. He played for six teams and ranks sixth for career attempts, completions and passing yards.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Testaverde holds the NFL record by throwing at least one touchdown pass in 21 straight seasons.

He's the only guy who stays in good enough shape to come off his couch & play professional football. He's always been a training/health freak.
I got respect for anyone his age who can do that....anyone who doesn't respect that has never been a highly conditioned athlete.

He's just plain bad he needs to retire and become a Quarterbacks coach.

I have a few QB candidates for much earlier retirement. Starting with McNabb.
