Bruschi is dead wrong in his assessment of the Brett Favre situation.

He said that if the viking players who went to favre's house had to beg him, then he lost respect for favre. Also, said some of the younger players will have a bad opinion of Favre b/c how he handled situation.

Bruschi needs to put his 3 super bowl titles aside and put himself in shoes of all these players who never have won a Super Bowl.

Bottom line is favre is 40, been in league for 20 yrs and it takes alot mentally just to lace them up at this age, especially at QB.

    Agree?

bruschi is the only guy at ESPN to have the balls to say what a lot of people are thinking.

He seems to be doing a pretty good job so far. he even spoke against belicheck last year for going for it on 4th down.

What is a good analyst? Someone that says the same shitt as all the other suits? ESPN is so pathetic nowadays, they are afraid to actually say anything that might bother people. Bruschi is dead on about the Favre situation. I absolutely think some of the players in the locker room will not like how favre handled the situation. Do you guys really think Tavaris doesnt have any friends on the team? Do you guys really think there aren't any players in that locker room that resent favre for his antics? The guy knew he was coming back, he just wanted attention, and to have people beg him to return. It really just makes him look like an attention whore who thinks he is too good for training camps. I doubt that EVERY player has no problem with him skipping on camps. And him not showing up for camps sets a bad example for the younger players.

Brushi is correct, Favre is a douche, and Teddy is the first and only person to actually speak out against the old man.

Bruschi retired as soon as he realized he had lost a step. He never waffled about it. Guy has a lot of character.

So who is a good analyst? Cowherd? Mike and Mike? Most of the guys on ESPN all report the same things, and share the same opinion....the safe opinion of the network that wont offend anyone - especially the players. God forbid someone says something negative about Brett Favre...

How about we just start cloning Gruden!

...This guy Favre throws a million balls a day! this guy will still be great at 60! this guy, this guy, this guy!!!!

but it says a lot about teddy for speaking out against his old coach, especially since he had just walked out the door, and given his relationship with the pats organization.

bruschi easily could have supported his friend and former coaches' decision. i use it as an example of him being an unbiased reporter. can't say the same about 99% of the turds on espn these days. most reporters/analysts out there now are too busy kissing ass and afraid to offend the teams/players/organizations for fear that they wont be in their good graces - which is NOT what good reporting is about.

if i was on the vikings i would be sending flowers to farves house everyday, hes the only chance they have to win. When youve never won a super bowl and could taste it last year obviously your going to do anything to get that taste back so flying to Mississippi to get him back is 100% the right move and should not be criticized no matter how you put it

They should have more respect for themselves. The organization should as well. it makes them look like fools to allow favre to hold them hostage. What they should have done was draft a QB. there were plenty of guys available that they could have taken. Example : Jimmy Claussen was passed up in the first round - just to name 1. Why not look towards the future instead of holding onto the chance to beg for the gunslingah to come back after training camps are finishing up.

Favre doesnt give them a chance to win a superbowl, what he gives them is a false sense of hope...something to be shattered by yet another interception from some crazy attempted bomb that should have just been handed off so that Petersen could fumble.

Having a different opinion than you doesn't make someone a bad analyst. It is how they present their opinion that makes or breaks their career.

everybody was clearly wrong about the 4th down call. it was the right call. it didn't work big deal. Manning was going to score the td whether they punted it or not. This way they had a 50%+ chance to win right there plus still some chance of stopping him

that's what i felt at the time as well. the 3rd and 4th down pass plays were a joke. had they converted, bill would've been labeled a genius(again). pats d was run down and bill knew it.

as for bruschi not being a good technical analyst.....whoah. the guy was always in the right place in a complex d. he knows more than most. he's still getting his feet wet on camera, but he's right. if favre wants to play, tell the team. don't be a drama queen all offseason and leave the team in limbo.

Some great analysis in this thread.

I like Bruschi as an analyst because he seems a little offbeat from the norm. He adds a different flavor or variety to the mix.

As for his comment about Favre, meh. Maybe he's just jealous that he never got such star treatment, maybe he's just an old school guy who doesn't buy into this star treatment on principal. Either way, he's just telling it how he sees it, which is what he gets paid to do.
