Calloway is another in a long line of Iowa linemen that should have a long career in the NFL. He is not the elite athlete that Gallery or Steinbach were but he has enough initial quickness to get out to pick up the edge rusher. He has excellent hand use and will consistently work to finish his blocks off and has a bit of a nasty temperament on the field. Enough of a knee bender to stay under his pads and will bring his feet with him to sustain and redirect blocks with movement. While he has played tackle on both sides as well as some at guard his best position is probably going to be on the right side in the NFL
I think Moeaki is the best player without really looking too hard on who will play the most

read that angerer had 2 sacks in first 4 plays of preseason game... but during practice was a little slow adjusting.. maybe he is picking it up.
moeki impressing quite a bit in kc
i'd say Spievey has the best rookie season.
on a side note... angerer sent hawkeye backup qb vandenberg a text on the first day of practice that said "try not to blow the season this year".. or something similar to that. angerer is hilarious.

Angerer led the Colts in tackles last night with 8, 2 sacks, and a couple nice hits on the QB.

I see him being similar to Bryce Paup.
If not mistaken, Angerer had the fastest 40 of all linebackers in the draft...............was a great HS running back.
By the way, Bryce is a native Iowan also, and attended Northern Iowa.

Can tell you who it's not going to be.... Spivey though he will be giving every chance in Detroit as they have the worst secondary in the NFL. He has been a huge disapoint so far according to most I read and the word is may have played himself right off the team and onto a practice squad.

Is this a fact???
Spivey was fantastic at Iowa and was regarded as one of the top CB's in the entire draft even though he left early as a JUNIOR(wish he would have stayed).
He is still very young and I would be a little shocked if he doesn't make it somewhere................although I did think he and Bulaga were both overrated coming out.

This just in...................
Pro Football Weekly says that from the early looks of it, CB Amari Spievey could spend 2010 being on the field more than first thought:
Lions rookie CB Amari Spievey struggled in his first work with the team this spring and appeared to be more of a project this season. But his work in the team’s final minicamps in June gave the staff hope that Spievey can be more than a special-teams contributor and sideline student this year. He enters camp with a very real chance to earn a significant role – if not as a starter, then as a valuable sub-package defender. No secondary spot – other than FS Louis Delmas’ – is anywhere close to being set in stone.

The Detroit Lions have confirmed that third-round draft pick (No. 66 overall) Amari Spievey has agreed to a 3-year contract, according to a source within the organization.
There's no word as to the dollars involved or if Tom Lewand was intoxicated during negotiations.
The Lions have inked a player who is likely to be starting at cornerback before the end of the season. Then again, after looking at the depth chart, it's possible Spivey will be named a starter before the end of training camp.
Spivey is the third draft pick to sign a contract in the last week. Last Friday, 4th round pick Jason Fox agreed to terms. 7th round selection Willie Young signed on the line that is dotted this past Monday.
Remember, it's pronounced "Spev-ay", not "Spy-vee."

Yes he came in right away mainly because of how bad they are at CB, with a chance to actually start. Have read numerous times he has been struggling with nagging injuries early in camp which has set him a bit behind most. This past week seemed to be his worst and after getting beat on a long play in the preseason opener I have heard that they just dont feel confident he can play yet.
Believe me I/they want him to be productive badly. He may be one of the most important players on the team unbelieveably as they really have no talent at corner. They actually have solid and surprising pass rush as their defensive line added 3 new pieces this year (Suh, Corey Williams and Vandebosch). In the first preseason game they dominated the Steelers up front and the excitement now is even higher cause of that but the secondary remains a huge question mark and one of the top reasons is Spivey has yet to show much.

here is one thing I read:The Lions' coaching staff is reportedly not a fan of rookie CB Amari Spievey.
The 66th selection in April's draft, Spievey has many backers in the Lions' scouting department, but coaches have soured on him due to an inability to stay on the field. He's not going to enter the season as a defensive regular.

another:
Rookie DB Amari Spievey has been a disappointment for the Lions thus far. The third-round pick hasn't been 100 percent for a single practice yet, as he's dealt with a nagging hip injury.
Amari Spievey was not as impressive looking as I had hoped he would be, all though his action was probably limited due to his recent injuries. I was actually surprised to see him out there at all given his recent injuries. Lets hope he shows some progress in the next few pre season games
