The starters, including first-year quarterback Kevin Kolb, are scheduled to play one quarter, the norm for the first preseason game. Kolb will play the first quarter, followed by Michael Vick and Mike Kafka. Vick is scheduled to play the second quarter and half of the third, and Kafka will finish.
The Eagles are unlikely to test any new formations or defenses against the Jaguars. They will be very conservative in the preseason game considering the two teams meet again in Week 3.
“Absolutely. It sure is and we’re looking down the road to see what’s going to come of them," Kolb said. "So, you obviously look at it a little bit different than what you would if it was just somebody you’re not going to play.”
