    Preseason 2010: SF@IND (August 15th - 1:00 EST)
This is going to be rather large wager for me on San Francisco. I see this game opening at (-3) for the '9ers on the road.

I have a litany of reasons for my pick, and I'll get into them more in-depth later on, but, for now, I'd like to here others' opinions on the game.

It's preseason. Don't waste your money.

Only game I will play is Jets-Giants. Jets is the play because they want to show they are No.1 team in NY.

I don't think betting preseason is a waste of money, but you need more info, such as who will be the quarterbacks and for how much playing time. On the surface Indy shows little interest in playing preseason (even in regular season while 14-0), while San Fran tried last year in preseason with Singletary.

Find out how many series Manning will play, while he sucks when it counts, Mr October can shred vanilla defenses better than anyone. If he plays 2 or 3 series and scores touchdowns, everyone will say how great he is and you will be down 14 or 21 points in a meaningless game. Also, will the new backup Painter get more playing time? Will there be a competition with Tom Brandstater for backup where both see significant playing time?

About the only backup I'm familiar with for 49ers is David Carr. Will he play a lot if Singletary thinks he can take over for Smith should he falter? Is crabtree going to see significant playing time this game? Please hold off betting this game and keep an open mind until you get more info as to who will play, and for how long. I'm interested to hear your reasons later on.

This is like a rematch from last season. I would take 49ers if the spread is +5 or greater.

Yes, those concerned on a forum, my reasoning may indeed seem tedious, &/or unnecessarily specific due to the impractical nature of "handicapping" anything during the pre-season.

Nonetheless, I think it would prove to have substantive merit if one was to really delve deep into perhaps just this one game, and just this one game alone for the first week of exhibition "action".

NFLX is the easiest sport to beat, and anyone that doesn't bet it simply doesn't like money. I don't remember the last time I had a losing preseason, and I am usually over 60%.

As for this game, I agree that the 49ers are the obvious play at -3 or less, and the main reasons have already been given in this thread (Colts don't give rat's ass, SF actually wants to win).

No different than the regular NFL books, except that you can;t wait until game day for the reduced juice at 5 Dimes since preseason lines move so much.

I am funded at your first 4, as well as Rebate Wager, which will be my first year there. I got out of Bodog a while ago and have no intention of going back.

Looks like the line is SF -3 over/under 31.
