No cornerback has EVER won the MVP award. I don't know about this one. But of course it does have value.

He's not the best cover man in the NFL. The best cover man in the NFL could never win the MVP, partially because he's the best cover man in the NFL, if you know what I mean. Obviously, this is a long, long shot. But you never know. Good luck.

It's getting so that RBs can't even win the MVP anymore, how is a CB gonna win it?

It's a QB league. Face it.

Revis could have double digit picks, Ray Rice could pile up 2,500 yards from scrimmage, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers could dominate the passing stats, and they'd give it to Tom Brady or Peyton Manning.

Maybe they'll give it to Brees/Favre if either has another great season after they were robbed last year.

Seriously, they need a runoff in the voting or something.

Only if he has the record for interceptions AND the offense is horrible around the league this year. Manning would win it if he had a mediocre year ahead of him, as well as Brady, Favre and Brees.

I am split between Brees and Romo to win the MVP.

Read the history of the winners of the MVP award. RBs and QBs won it the most.

My gut is screaming for Brees. He got robbed last year and the voters are too sentimental to forget that.

Another sentimental favorite might be Favre, but with Peterson potentially splitting his votes, I don't see it.

Obviously Peyton is always the favorite, but I think people are really getting sick of him getting it every year.

Bottom line, MVP is a sentimentalist award and unless someone smashes the record books or something, Brees is it.

Maybe if Revis returned kicks and returned several for TDs. Otherwise, it won't happen.

The QBs will win the MVP, then the RBs, and then any other position. So no, this is a waste of money

If he's man enough to put Christian Laettner as his avatar, I am man enough to bite my tongue, and offer support.
                                                REVIS/PALIN 2012!

Arguably he had the best campaign of a CB, ever? last year. The JETS won 9 games, and two of those were against teams who were "resting"

this is why he is at +2500, if revis had been a QB he would have thrown for 5532 yds, if he was a RB he would have ran for 2000 yds, if he was a WR he would have caught for 1922 yds (footballoutsiders.com).. alas he is a cornerback, and no one voting for MVP cares.. WOODSON beat him out?? for defensive MVP?

The big problem is, if the JETS win 6 games he ain't going to win. AND if the JETS win 12+ he is going to be seen as a PART of a talented team, that is LED by Sanchize... and REX.. Polamalu is ALMOST as impressive, and the defensive backs just aren't mentioned as league MVPs.. +2500 is a great VALUE. If you are into VALUE, if that is your particular kink.

All of this is meaningless, your avatar has inspired me. There is only one thing to do when you need to reach a life changing decision or bet your last 20 on something. close your eyes, quiet your mind and ask

                                                WHAT WOULD CHRISTIAN LAETTNER DO?

He would not waste his money on this bet because there is no chance of winning it. Even Christian knows that.

Revis is certainly not the best cover man in the NFL. If you get your football knowledge from 10 second ESPN highlights and the idiots on that channel, you might Revis is the best, but if you understand football, you'd know he's not and the fact that anyone would consider Revis for an MVP (and would never mention the actual best cover man in th NFL for MVP) proves Revis is not the best. Can you figure out why?

I think the odds of Revis winning MVP should be at least 75-1, if not more. You HAVE to look at history and how people vote, more than who the best player really is. It's a popularity contest in many ways, and CB's are just not as popular and aren't household names for everyone.

Revis's chance of winning MVP is so little. Not just because of he's a cornerback but because he is so good at shutting down the passing attack to his side of the field. He will not get double digit INTs because QBs are not going to test him because he is that good. Revis on his own, cannot pad his stats like the way QBs and RBs do.

Another great point Jag. How many MVPs did Deion Sanders win everyone? If anybody ever deserved to win an MVP, that guy did on more than once occasion.
