Did you see the play in the San Diego game where he was covering Gates (I think) over the middle. Gates beat him like a rented mule, was open by 10 yards, and Ray shut it down before Gates got into the endzone. I don't think Ray wanted to be "posterized"!

Ray has lost a couple steps, so it's time for him to move over to a 3-4 system and actually stick to his assignments rather than being freelance 80% of his plays. If he was actually willing to do that, he could still be great with the Pats or Steelers.

Lewis is definately past his prime. Not half the player he once was. In his prime he was one of the best of all time.

they run a 4-3. they briefly tried the 3-4 when hartwell was in his prime, but prima donna Lewis wasn't comfortable in the 3-4 so they quickly scrapped the idea. With him getting older and slower I'd think he'd be more open to a change, but who knows he's always been stubborn and ego driven.

I love Ray Lewis. He may not be the player he used to be but he offers leadership to his team. He is the spiritual leader of that team as crazy as that sounds.
