Is this true? NFL Home Team -3
I remember hearing that no matter what teams are playing, line makers automatically give the home team -3? Is that true?

So when the Pak played AT Dallas, the line was -7
If Dallas played AT Green Bay, the line would have been Cowboys -1.

    Am I correct?

It isn't that simple. It is a rough guide, but not all points are created equal. A home 7.5 point favorite might be a road 3 point favorite.

NFL home teams have outscored their opponents by 2.9 pts per game over the last 29 years, so yes -3 is generally given as the home field, but as Wheell said it's not always that simple.

        Homefield advantage sometimes worth more

For example, if Miami is playing Buffalo in the winter, there may be more homefield advantage since buffalo is use to this and Miami is not.
