i think that Detroit will take this one easily they showed that they can stop the run now they will just have to weather the pass and with their offense that looks like it is waking up they should be able to help bury the CARDS!

It is -1 now (for BetUS at least). I'm jumping all over this.

2.2 units on DET -1. I think they win by 10.

It irks me that the other books have DET +1, but I think this will only go down. I think it will stop at DET -2.

My book is still showing Detroit at +1... I want to get on this as soon as possible but more input would be appreciated. I like Detroit up to as much as -2 or -3 but if I can get them as a dog that would be huge.

The one thing that scares me in this game is the Lions pass defense as they give up 250 yards a game via the pass. If the Cards have an offensive strength its the pass. Warner only completed 10 of 30 passes vs Tampa however. Arizona has played tough at home, if you forget about a pathetic 25-10 loss vs the Panthers. They have played close games but their confidence has to be hurting after 3 straight losses.

The Lions are playing with tons of confidence but they have been blown out twice on the road.

These are my concerns.

I still like Detroit quite a bit here

Yea i dont think it will be a blowout but in a shootout i think that Lions will take it Kurt is still hurt and he still cant hold onto the ball and they just took it in the short from the falcons they are definitly not flying high

I think DET has finally realized that they can hang in the league. Kitna has turned into their leader, and AZ is still AZ. Warner should be good for a TO or two.

I like the 49ers too on Monday night. Especially if Gore plays. Alex Smith is not as bad as he's shown to this point, is he? I realize it goes a lot deeper than Smith but I like the pick

As far as the Saints go, I'm going to lay off. Its too many points to give away for me but if I had to go one way or the other I would go Saints. Their pass offense is out of control and getting better each week. The Rams had a hard time stopping Edwards and Winslow two weeks ago and I see Coltson having a big game.

Are the saints back im not sure still doing some work on that one i think that a week off lets everyone get healthy and focused for this next week. And remember the saints d isnt great either they give up a lot of yards in the air

Cant bring myself to bet this jus yet. Seatle is verable, I expect Ari to make a playoff stand, It will be tough to come back from 3-6. Det also has a tough schedule to look ahead to though. Still like det, imo they are a top 3 nfc team, but gonna havta give it more thought b4 im willing to place my bet.

I was 3-0 on Arizona this year until the loss to Tampa. Despite them still doing Arizona-like things, I think Wissenhunt has started a turnaround there.

One thing they do is play 60 minutes. Down 23-3 against Baltimore 2nd half, they tied the game and lost in the final seconds. Down 17-3 in the second half at Washington, they missed a last second FG to win. Last week, every right to quit down 17-3 late at Tampa and they fought back to 17-10 and had the ball with 2:30 left when Warner was picked on a bad call they couldn't challenge with no timeouts left.

They also have played 5 of their first 8 on the road, with several trips to the east coast for 1 p.m. games.

I really like Arizona in this spot. Detroit is for real, but this looks like a tough spot for them on the road.

Is there a difference if the line is +1 or -1? Unless you think Detroit is going to lose or win by one point.

I'm all Detroit in this game. I'll also take the over. These two teams have the fastest receivers in the league. Martz should be familiar with Arizona's defense from his time in St. Louis. The guy is a genious.

This Detroit/Arizona game is one where, if I was just looking at stats, I would stay away. Statistically, they are both rather balanced, and mediocre to pretty good, teams (the Lions' statistically-suspect pass D being the exception).

The difference, to me, is the direction these two teams are going.

The Lions clearly seem to be improving. They are coming off a good win at Chicago, followed by a blow-out of the Broncos at home. The Lions are 3-0 ATS, in their last three, since their bye week. They are one game behind the Packers in their division. The Lions, right now, think they are contenders, and they just might be right.

On the other hand, the Cardinals, since their win at home over the Steelers, have been hurting. They barely beat the Rams. Then they lost to the Panthers at home and the Redskins and Bucs on the road. The Cardinals are 1-3 ATS since their win over the Steelers. I'm sure they are happy to be coming home to Arizona, but can they get a win against this good, confident Lions team?

Also, pavyracer's point about Martz's time in the NFC west is a good one.

I'm thinking that a modest play on the Lions might be in order. ML perhaps.

[Update: I decided to take the point. Put a modest bet on the Lions +1.]

Looks like a good bet. If the Lions can get any pressure on Warner I think they win handily. If you get close to Kurt Warner and breathe on him he fumbles. If they cant get a pass rush going though....Warner could have a big game.

I like the lions too. I am going to the casino to see if the line is as nice here as it is online. While the stats are pretty even (lions rushing Offense +2, rushing D +14, passing O+17, and passing D-63), the YPA is in favor of the lions (by 1.09). My instinct was lions, and i like the YPA in favor of them. In almost an even line, just take the better team. Lions are better than the cardinals, so I will make my bed with them.

I also like the colts and bills. Going to try to bet all three, though I usually dont like betting early.

As soon as I saw this line I jumped on it. I got the Lions on the ML for even money. This is a no brainer. The Cards are weak and the Lions need this win because the remaining schedule is brutal. I'm predicting that the Lions take it 34-10
