I know that many of you willl vote for Denver, because of that terrible trade they made to get Tebow. San Diego trading that far up to get a RB out of Fresno State and ignoring their defensive needs was also very bad. But the team that did the WORST was the St. Louis Rams. Now many of you will not believe this. After all, they got Bradford, everyone's #1 pick. So how did they lose? That answer is simple.
Let's examine this years QB crop. There is no star. Bradford is damaged goods. McCoy and Tebow do not have much of an arm. All three played in a spread offense. Clausen has the strongest arm, and played in a Pro style offense, but did not show much in the leadership or judgement fields. It is impossible to say which one, if any of these guys will be a huge success. I could make arguments for or against each and every one of these guys. We simply do not know.
This is where the Rams blew it. We all know that they needed a QB. We also knew that there was no way all 4 of those QB's would be taken in the 1st round. The Rams should have taken DT Suh to fill a huge hole in their defense. They still would have been able to take either McCoy or Clausen in the 2nd round with their first pick. They could have had a great draft. They could have taken the best player in the draft and still taken a solid QB prospect in the 2nd round. They have the first pick. But the Rams got caught in all of the Bradford hype. They blew a golden opportunity to get two for the price of one. This is what happens when you have incompetents running the front office. Opportunities get wasted.
