      I hope it doesn't become part of the regular season. Just forget about the OT completely and allow games to end in draws.

          It's ok for the playoffs, but I really don['t get what's wrong with a draw during the regular season.

          The only thing that matters is which team beat the spread.

          Right?

            Well, it happened to Manning the year prior. I think it's happened a few other times.

              The problem is this. You should not have different rules for the playoffs vs the regular season. So if your team loses the toss in a playoff game, and the opposition kicks a FG, you still have a chance to win the game, but if this happens in a regular season game, you lose, and that loss could cost you a trip to the playoffs. That should not happen.
