Does this Roethlisberger stuff surprise you?
    By Kelly Naqi
    ESPN
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has withdrawn its request for a DNA sample from Ben Roethlisberger, according a source familiar with the investigation.
A 20-year-old woman told police Roethlisberger, who had been out barhopping with friends, assaulted her early March 5 in a bar in Milledgeville, Ga. Roethlisberger has not been charged.
No reason was given as to why the GBI has withdrawn its request or when it did so. When asked what this means in terms of the status of the investigation of Roethlisberger, GBI public information officer John Bankhead declined to comment.
When asked how this would affect the timetable on when the GBI and the Milledgeville police department will complete their investigation and submit their case to the district attorney, so the DA's office can decide whether it will seek to press charges against Roethlisberger, Bankhead said, "I don't know. I'd have to have my crystal ball out but I don't have it with me."
When asked what the GBI withdrawing its request for a DNA sample for Ben Roethlisberger meant to the case, Lee Parks, an attorney for the accuser, said, "We're not commenting on the investigation. It's not our place to do that."

Report: Roethlisberger's accuser declines to be re-interviewed

        by Mike Florio
On Tuesday, the news that police have dropped a request for an DNA sample from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was regarded as an indication that full exoneration is coming. There's been another development that points more directly to the possible collapse of the case.

According to KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, the alleged victim has declined to be re-interviewed by authorities. She last talked to police on the evening of the alleged incident.

Unless the alleged victim, who has retained private counsel, has opted to focus only on a civil claim, the move makes no sense. And even if she plans to focus on the civil claim, a viable criminal case provides a high degree of leverage.

HMMMMMMMMMM I WONDER WHY MAYBE IT WAS ALL A LIE AGAIN BUT THAT CANT BE SINCE EVERBODY IN SBR SAID HE DID IT OR IS IT THAT THEY WISH SO THERE TEAM MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE OF WINNING

No way Big Ben misses any playing time. Correct?

I listen to guys like colin cowherd talking about the possibility of Big Ben not playing any football this regular season.

Unless the prosecutors have some sort of miracle evidence to bury Big Ben, I just dont see him missing anytime.

I mean there is a thing called due process and if you or I got accused of the same crime, we still would be allowed to work until the case is resolved.

            Agree?

The real question is whether the Steelers release him before the start of training camp. Steelers are a very strict organisation and would not hesitate to release him if he lied to them.

Goodell may not wait for a trial. Pitt resigned old vet Charlie Batch as a #2 or 3 QB. Big Ben will not participate in Pitt's off season conditioning and workout program. Pitt management is keeping pretty tight lipped about the whole thing. S pavy said, Pitt is very conservative strict organization. Do not be shocked it Pitt trades him. He has a lot of value left in him. He would be a perfect fit for the misfits, er Raiders.

disagree. you or I would probably be fired from our jobs, especially if we were repeatedly accused of stuff like this.

Yeah bruce is right. Innocent until proven guilty only applies to the court. As an employee you represent the company and can be released simply for the appearance of impropriety.
