My answer is D . The answer to what state it's only a misdemeanor for dogfighting is in Wyoming and Idaho . There are 2 other laws being a spectator and being in possession of dogs for fighting . In idaho it is legal to watch and have dogs for fighting in your possession . Some other states it is also not illegal to be a spectator in, id , ga , hi , mt .
It is legal to possess dogs for fighting in idaho , ga and nevada .
The state with the stiffest penalties for this are nj ,al , col , ms , ariz , ohio , nc , nh , ne , wa , ct , fla , vt , mi , ri , nm . Those states have 3 felony provisions .
In Va it is a class 6 felony to fight dogs max 5 years and a 2500 fine . spectator is class one misdem max 12 months max 2500 fine . possessing dogs for fighting is class 6 felony max 5 years max 2500 fine .

What is so funny is that the same blood still flows in those today that flowed back in the coliseum (COLOSSEUM) in Rome .

We've come a long way since Roman times. Hopefully, we've become a more humane and civilized society. IMO, it remains to be seen in a lot of ways. I agree that starting wars is foolish. Bloodshed is needless in the current state of the world, yet it happens. That doesn't make it right.

As far as hunting, I don't hunt, but respect the ones that I know that do hunt. In fact, I wish the hunters around here would be more successful. Too many wild deer & turkeys around here. They are a nuisance. As far as the ones that mount deer heads on the wall in their living room, it's just lame and I don't know anyone, personally, that does it anymore. But, I know it is still done. Same with people brag about the size of the kill(s) they make. It's juvenile.

As for dogs. Personally, I don't like dogs. Dogs are a nuisance when I ride my bicycle for my daily workout. I've been bitten twice in 2007 by unleashed dogs, I've been threatened dozens of times by strange dogs on my various rides. Nevertheless, I blame the owners and not the dogs. IMO, a dog is like a loaded weapon. It's fine to own and posess a dog to guard property, companionship, peace of mind or whatever. It's another thing to be reckless & careless with a dog. Training a dog to fight and kill is reckless & careless. Vick killing and torturing dogs is simply part of the training. It's illegal. That's the bottom line. But, it's also morally corrupt activity, IMO. Not even a dog deserves such terrible treatment in this day and age.

Yes , one of the things I was conveying was basically that people should not be so hard on someone that makes a mistake .

Since it is his first offense that should really be the biggest criteria for his punishment .
I think he should do 5000 hours of community service , any other sentence is just hurting a truly special person that doesn't deserve it. This way he could help others and learn without becoming bitter rotting in a cell for no useful purpose to himself or anyone .
