The word I used for the Patriots is pivotal, if this team doesn't change their act , as far as paying Wilfork what he deserves, and one of the greatest receivers of all time Randy they will tailspin out of control, and won't see another Super Bowl for a long time.

Moss already said he doesn't expect to be back. I think they will be a team like the Eagles who are a good team year after year but always come up short, much like the Steelers before their recent run.

Imagine if they hadn't shipped Seymour to Oakland. A team's key DE is next behind QB as far as critical positions go.

I noticed little correlation between team salary and winning when I looked at some figures a few months back. It's weird, that it made little difference, at least for last year, and that good teams often don't try to front more money for good players.

They are missing key players in at least 8 positions on offense and defense., and they are not showing any concerns, The PATS, will not even make playoffs next year if they keep this up, As a Pats fan I am worried, and wondering if Belicheck is losing the edge.

Peppers is a Bear right now for the record. If he went to the Jets that'd be ridiculous. They shouldn't pay Randy next year because he's already fading. Randy knows there are teams out there like the Cowboys who will pay for a faded receiver and the Pats won't be able to match them. As far as getting rid of Seymour, we've yet to see what they do with the #1 overall pick in the draft that Al Davis and the Raiders gave them.

how much disparity is there in team salaries? the difference between the minimum and cap was like $16 million

http://content.usatoday.com/sports/f...aspx?year=2009 The source I used. I think I was looking at 2008 data at the time. Only $16 million? Maybe USA Today is accounting for signing bonuses differently?

Most people don't realize how much luck plays into championship winners in sports. There's a reason the best teams by the end of the regular season don't enter with overwhelming odds to win it. A pretty good team may enter the playoffs with a 1/3 or 1/4 chance of winning the championship each of five consecutive years, say, and have only a little bit less than a 50% chance of not winning it either year.

They must be counting signing bonuses or something, which for cap purposes get prorated over the course of the contract. I can't believe these are strict cap number stats.

peppers is wayyyy overpaid. bears are desperate for big signings. Patriots will rebuild in the draft and build a solid team with value players.
