    And Then There Were Four.
With the Saints playing in the Superbowl, the nomber of teams that have failed to play in a Superbowl has been cut to 4. Those teams are:

Detroit, who may never get to a Superbowl.
    Cleveland, version II.
Jacksonville, who may not stick around long enough for them to get there.
Houston, version II, who has only been around for 8 seasons.

While Jacksonville has been around for a while now, the Lions are the only original team that has not made it so the Superbowl since the inception of the game.

While this is a short list, the number of teams whohave not won a Superbowl increases substantially. Here are the additions:

    Arizona
    Atlanta
    Buffalo
    Carolina
    Cincinnati
    Minnesota
    Philadelphia
    San Diego
    Seattle
    Tennessee

All but Buffalo and Minnesota have only played in one game. Buffalo and Minnesota have played in, and lost, 4 games each.

and from the looks of things, there will always be those 4

and i could see a couple or 3 of the others that will win one.

Certainly Detroit figures to go a long time before they get into a Superbowl. Jacnsonville has kind of fallen into the same funk that the Saints were in for years. Cleveland II has not been around that long, but their front office is just terrible. Houston certainly has a shot. They have a good coach and a good front office. Indy is still the class of that division, but you never know for how much longer.
