I don't know where you may have watched the game, but if you were not in the French Quarter, you missed one of the greatest sceenes in football history. The Saint's fans were very gracious to we out-of-towners before the game started, and were very friendly. They thanked us for flying to the Big Easy to join them in the celebration.
The party after the game will go on until Fat Tuesday, a week from tomorrow. These good people really know how to party. We gave the bartender a c-note when we got to the bar, and we drank all night, until we finally quit around 2:00 this morning.
What was truely amazing was the belief that the City has turned the corner. They elected a new Mayor on Saturday, and won the Superbowl yesterday. The good people of New Orleans believe that the City's fortunes have now turned around. Better days are ahead for the people of New Orleans. People were crying with joy after the game. When the Saints returned the INT for the game clinching TD, it was like a bomb exploded all over the French Quarter. The people knew that they had won and let the world know that they won.
No matter who you wagered on, you had to have a special feeling when the Saints won. I can tell you that a lot more people won yesterday than the 53 guys wearing White and Gold. An entire City and State won. Having been in New Orleans was much better than having been at the game itself. Now if I can just find my head, which is somewheres down there.
