The underdog Redskins look to have the advantage in this NFL Network broadcast Saturday night, as they should be improved on both sides of the ball.
Both the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers have quite a few roster changes entering this season, but we feel that the difference is that the Redskins improved themselves immediately, while the Panthers will need more time for evaluation.
The Skins were decent on defense last season, but they have a chance to be excellent on that side of the ball this year with the additions of first round draft pick LaRon Landry, and free agent signees London Fletcher and Fred Smoot. Offensively, quarterback Jason Campbell begins the year as the starter this season, which is a big plus after he took over in mid-season last year.
On the other hand, the Titans were on the opposite end of the free agent spectrum, losing wide receivers Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade, as well as running back Travis Henry. Remember that this club was off to a dismal start last season, and Rookie of the Year Vince Young simply cannot carry this team by himself without some help from his supporting cast.
We feel that the Titans will have trouble putting points on the board in the early going this preseason, making the Redskins an attractive underdog in this spot.
Free Pick: Redskins +3 (-115)
