In a hastily-called press conference late Monday night, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre announced his retirement from the 2010 Pro Bowl. "Physically, I'm just not sure I have it in me to play another Pro Bowl," a teary-eyed Favre said. "I've given everything I have to the… the… the team I last played for, whoever they were." Favre said he briefly considered playing in the Pro Bowl, but didn't think he could top his performance in the NFC Championship Game, when he threw an interception at the end of regulation that may have cost the Vikings a trip to the Super Bowl. "As the career interceptions leader, it really was the perfect way to end my career," he said. Tony Romo was named to the NFC roster as Favre's replacement, and is expected to compete with Favre for the starting job when the Vikings QB comes out of retirement Friday afternoon.
