Remember when Peyton Manning sucked his first few years in the league?
I recall seeing him come go to the Colts in 98. The Colts were the worst team in the NFL at the time. I recall watching those games Peyton played for Tennessee when he was in college and although he was a good passer he could never win a NC there. Maybe he did not have the support but he was definitely a great passer.

Anyone remember when Peyton in his first few years in the NFL play? I recall his team went something like 3-13 in his first season when he was the starting QB. Then the next year i think they went to 13-3 and the following year they were okay. I recalled him did having a streak like he threw a touchdown every game and it went on for 40 games and was the longest streak at the time. Anyone know about this?

I know that Peyton wasn't that good of a player when he played his first few years. I even thought why are the Colts letting him start. He was horrible but most rookies are not suppose to be good anyways. Few years later down the line, he was definitely one of the better QBs in the league and I say for the last 3-4 years, he is the best QB ever in the NFL and many people believe this.

Anyone else recall how bad Peyton was when he got in the league? I would have never thought he would have been this good. I wonder why don't they let John Harbaugh even though he was very old and since Peyton struggled so much and their team was just at the bottom just like how the Raiders and Browns are now.

Rookies suck, that's what they do! But the staff at Indy saw the potential in what will go down in history to be one of the best QB's ever, & definately the smartest to play the position. He commands that offense. They don't even need a coordinator. I am from Tennessee & he was a decent college QB.
That's the difference though, have you noticed how many decent QB's go on to be great & great ones in college end up being mediocre at the next level! Tom Brady was a 4th round pick who was unheard of. Now he has 3 rings and hasn't hit his peak yet.
The only blemish on Peytons career was never beating Florida, & therefore no NC. But I think a couple SB rings wipes that blemish away.
Tebow, Leinhart, all those guys that are so great in college will never be as good as Peyton or Tom.
