hopefully public perception will inflate this line, as has become normal in the super bowl. seems the public has a short memory, before the saints stinking it up yesterday this line was three, what changed? saints were helped immensely by that dome, but they still looked ineffective in the second half. thats all everyone remembers. what about colts allowing the 'great' jet offense over 350 yards and trailing by 11 at one point.
Kind of thinking the Saints might be frauds.

Lets look at the flip side for a second:
If the Colts can put up 460 yds on the #1 defense in the NFL then what are they going to do against the 25th defense? Manning is RED HOT...Indy has lost 5 fumbles all season, and they're always one of the lowest penalized teams in the NFL! They put up a minimum of 34-35 on the Saints! The Colts were 8th in points allowed in the 14 games that they tried to win!Comment -

The Super Bowl is the best of the league & it will make ordinary players do extraordinary things. There is luck involved in every game and Manning & the Colts had alot of luck to go with that talent to get here.
Don't think for a minute that the Saints won't play as hard as they have ever played in this game & all the pressure is on the Colts which leads to second guessing & mistakes.Comment -

NO beat AZ
Before AZ they lost 3 games in a row and won 2 games on the road by FG
I think Indy is a better team than NO on grass

#43Brees is great and Bush is good and they got a good linebacker and yea I know they got some good players. But that little football freak who lives somewhere in my head says they might not be able to beat Tampa Bay much less a mistake free Colts team.
The bad calls late in the Saints game deprived us of a great match up I believe. However, this may be about as easy or easier than grabbing Peyton over Sanchez.
i hope everyone and their brother are thinking like you and bet the colts even more up until kickoffComment -

#44I would not call New Orleans frauds. After all, they were the #1 team in the NFC. Now can they defeat the #1 team in the AFC? I sincerely doubt it, but because they may lose to Indy does not mean that they are frauds.Comment -

#46Why is everyone saying that the Colts have no D? Their D is the difference this year for them. Peyton and his offense are this good every year. Why do they have a history of blowing it in the playoffs? Because their defense is not usually this good. The saints do not belong in the Super Bowl I really hope they get blown out.Comment -

I'd say Pierre Garcon is the biggest reason for the Colts improvement this year over last. Last year, counting on Marvin Harrison was more of a liability than an asset.Comment -

I still don't get the more pressure on the Colts thing? Indy was just there a few years ago...I see the rookie Saints being more rattled...with all the Mardi Gras crazy people bringing the party down to South Beach and taking away some of their preparation!Comment -

#49while yes the jets put up 350 on the colts, you have to admit, they werent expecting sanchez to come out throwing to edwards long, so that was about 1/4 of the yards right there, the next big play was that clever little flea flicker which gained em a chunk as well... so IMO those numbers are a tad bit inflated... the colts d is FAST, they were able to stop teams on the grind which is why they are where they are, and the saints are not going to be able to mix it up on manning, for christs sake he reads the d at the line and makes adjustments! how is a D coordinater supposed to handle that? they cant. the saints will certainly score on the colts, but they will not be able to keep pace with manning... throw in the fact that the dome wont be behind them, they get sloppy with penalties, and being the first run in franchise history, im thinking the butterflies will get to them a bit.. colts by 14Comment -

#56slacker cmon now, im not trying to rationalize away anything. im logically stating that going into the game, sanchez throwing bombs was an afterthought, and as soon as they saw that he had it in him, and it wasnt going to be a 4th quarter gameplan they tightened up and he didnt have another big toss like that. im simply stating that IN MY OPINION those two plays inflated the numbers a tad bit.. i am in no way trying to take away from the performance of the jets.. hell ive said before i think they were the only ones left who could beat em, which is why i had em at +8
however, you can bet your bottom dollar that indy expects brees to come out and pass, and they wont be allowing big plays like that.. the colts D is all about using the speed to make offenses grind down the field, and while the saints will be able to get points up, they wont be scorring like manning and crew.Comment -

#57I hear ya, Tex. If it's any consolation, I didn't expect Indy to be able to run on the Jets. Then again, I didn't expect all of those Jets injuries during the game either. The Jets had an amazing bad bit of luck, especially adding in those missed FGs.Comment -

#59i agree slacker.. the colts really showed some of their underlying strengths.. and i think without the injuries, they would have covered the spread.. that, combined with the last minute line movement is why i took the bet in the first place.. saw some good value there
however this D is nothing like the jets, and while the saints offense may be more dynamic, the colts are more than capable of containing.. i hit the colts line hard at -4 when it came out, and there is no doubt in my mind that the colts will cover that, unless manning gets injured (knock on wood)Comment -

ive done it in spots the last 9 yrs and i have hit over 55% of them i'll tell you that, some of my biggest bets were when the pats owned him and the chargers the past 3 yrs, i've made tons of money betting against peyton 'cause he's usually giving too many pts and they D cannot keep the marginComment -
