He covered the point spread, so I hope you bet the house because you woulda won the bet.

Now he lost the game, not cause of an interception, but for singing Pants On The Ground with 12 men in the huddle.

OF COURSE NOT...did he single handedly cost the Packers all those playoff games...NO...but he clearly is a contributing factor...AND...if he tucks this one and runs a couple yards, even 3 or 4!! Longwell likely makes that kick!
He probably has a broken ankle and played most of the game with it, doesn't the blame really lie on Childress who as coach with his team in control of the ball with a little over a minute left with first down at the NO 33 chose to call 2 straight run plays for no gain call a time out send the wrong group of players out, causing Favre to try to call another timeout which cost the team a 5 yd penalty which forced an obvious passing situation which NO teed off on, maybe he gets enough for field goal range if he runs it (but he had a broken ankle doubt he would be going very fast, Rice looked to be coming open but Favre threw behind him) but if the coach didn't have his head up his ass Favre wouldn't have been in that situation to begin with.

Terry Bradshaw: If Vikings don't win Super Bowl, Brett Favre will play another season

Will Brett Favre play again in the 2010 season?
Hall of Fame QB Terry Bradshaw says it all depends on whether Favre and the Vikings advance to -- and win -- Super Bowl XLIV.
Bradshaw, now a Fox analyst, told USA TODAY's Michael Hiestand that if Favre wins the Super Bowl, he will likely hang up his cleats -- for good. Bradshaw says Favre is motivated by a desire to show up the Packers, the team he divorced in 2008.
Favre, Bradshaw said, wants to "embarrass them, put it in their face. And nothing would throw it in their face more than winning the Super Bowl."
Bradshaw said in Week 1 that he was "fed up" with Favre, weeks after the QB ended his second retirement to join the Vikings. Two months later, with Favre the Vikings riding a wave of success that led to an NFC North title, Bradshaw acknowledged his criticism is wrong
And Bradshaw said if the Vikings' season doesn't end with Favre hoisting a Lombardi Trophy, expect to see the QB back in Minnesota. -- Sean Leahy

Definate Top 5/10 all time. Favre has supplied many great moments for football fans, just like getting to the NFC Conf Championship game last night. We cannot forget the great memories he has given us over his superb career.

Kudos to Brett Favre for being Brett Favre.

I do not blame this loss on Brett he was pounded to the ground around 16 times
with at least 8 of them being legitimate 15 yard personal fouls I congratulate this
man on just being able to finish the game but shame on the Saints game plan to personally attack poor Brett

It was surprising that they managed to keep it close with all the turnovers! Its sad to think that Farve will allways be remembered for his last minute F#*k ups, as opposed to all his great achievments!

As a Peyton Manning fan and hearing how he (Peyton) is such a choker, blah, blah, blah so often during his Excellent career (Like he is the only guy on the team), Favre should be remembered as one of the best QB's to EVER play the game. It is poppycock and immature to not understand his greatness on a football field and respect such. We're talking about one of VERY few men to have ever played this position at his level and won a super bowl along the way. Geeesh.

He throws that pass out of bounds or one hops the receiver and no one would have said anything. And the result would have been the same: Overtime. That was third and fifteen.

have to agree. Making it to the nfc championship don't mean a damn thing. Vikings are just like the lions, browns, raiders and all the rest of the nfl. Bottom line you play the game to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Well the Vikings have never won one. Brett Favre may of helped them get this far but he also played a huge role in them not winning the big game. And that is why the Vikings brought this guy to there club. Brett Favre has choked in more big games then he has won. This guy isn't that great of a qb. But has played since players wore leather helmets so i give him that.

People should have expected that from him, at the same time he brought the Vikings that far. Hopefully he lets it rest and quits for good this time, but that's what he does if he plays. He ends with an interception.

This is the most intelligent post I have read so far in any thread about this game! The coaching and playcalling put him into an impossible situation where he was forced to make a play. A lot of you are assuming that a 55+ yard field goal is a guarantee. Give me a break. And if they miss a 55 yarder the Saints have incredible field position and maybe enough time to take a shot of their own in regulation......

It is typical Favre, forcing a pass, All he had to do was run for like 7 yards as the field was wide open.

The second down running play was a bad call too

                                                    Minny is poorly coached

Favre was not the only problem. Too many Viking fumbles.

That penalty killed him. But I didn't understand why he didn't run, oh wells it will be a entertaining SB anyways.

You guys are freaking nuts to criticize Favre. I have to remember never to listen to anyone on bets who is criticizing Favre cause you must not understand football really well. The man is 40 years old I am 35 and I couldn't take the pounding he did and I played football so I know the game. The clock mismanagement setup that final interception. If it wasn't for the helter skelter way they played the last minute he wouldn't have been forced to make that throw. He was playing on one leg he wasnt going to run and if he did he would have got 5 yards. Which would have left a 49 or 50 yard field goal and kickers in the playoffs from that distance or farther are 2 of 9. So he needed to complete a 15 yard pass to have alot better chance to win the game which is what he tried to do. I mean please for him to lead an offense that turned the ball over 5 times to even having a chance at the end was miraculous. And the way the NFL does overtime is such BS. Its as bad as soccer or hockey ending hardfought games on penalty shots or kicks. Whoever wins the coin toss almost always wins and they are guarunteed to have at least equal possessions and the other team never gets the ball. Each team should at least get the ball the same number of times the way they do that is a joke. So get the hell of favres back if you know anything about football at all you will.

A lot of you are assuming that a 55+ yard field goal is a guarantee. Give me a break. And if they miss a 55 yarder the Saints have incredible field position and maybe enough time to take a shot of their own in regulation......
