Gore was the 1st alternate behind Steven Jackson, who won't play because of injury.

#4Gore is a great player.
Niners are going to be a damn good team next season. Crabtree will have a year under his belt, Gore/Davis/Willis are at their peaks, plus the divisions isn't good.Comment -

Need to draft a quality free agent quarterback to be a contender.Comment -

#8Lot of people unhappy with Pro Bowl this year, but it has been a laugher in the past, too. I am glad to see new faces and other talent. I like the new idea. I will enjoy watching guys who we normally wouldn't see. Good experience for them and good to mix things up. I'll enjoy watching football. It's liking any all star game with some nonsense.Comment -

#9Frank Gore ended the season well. There was a period of games where the Niner offense was very stagnant and the defense knew he was coming. If the Niners would have won that heartbreaking Viking game and that OT Seahawks game, they would have made the playoffs. Hopefully, they can continue to progress next year as they should.Comment -

He deserves another year to prove himself. Maybe draft a late rounder to backup.Comment -

#15I might watch it simply due to "NFL withdrawal", waiting around for the Super Bowl.
Plus, it will be interesting to see how they incorporate this new Pro Bowl format into the Super Bowl atmosphere.
I like the concept of combining the Super Bowl with the Pro Bowl, trying to stir the pot. We'll see.Comment -

#19I prefer it this way. Let the "lesser teams" shine a bit more. The Super Bowl teams get overexposed enough as it is.Originally posted by ShortstopObviously, the two Super Bowl teams won't be letting their players play.
I also enjoy it when Pro Bowl regulars "opt out" to let the next guy in. I know it waters down the talent pool, but the game itself is a joke. Pro Bowl honors are overrated anyway. Let the guys that actually "want to be there" participate and let the crusty vets accept the honor and opt out if they wish. It's more of a PR/Political posturing event anyway. But make the "opting out" Pro Bowlers attend and sign autographs, take pictures with the kids, etc. Keep the fans as a priority throughout the Pro Bowl more than any other NFL event.Comment -

#20good for him.... To see Frank be able to go back to Miami and play in the pro bowl in front of his family and friends is very well deserved.. Frank has meant so much to a team with very little to cheer about the last seven years and to see him rewarded in this way is perfect..Comment -

#23If Al Gore can be given the Nobel peace prize,I have no problem with JJ Gold being named to the pro bowl.Maybe the guys who select pro bowl picks thought Frank Gore was Al Gore's son that gets picked up for driving 120MPH with weed all the time.Comment -

#24After the superbowl, football season is finished for me. I never even remember about the pro bowl being played the next week. But with the pro bowl being a week before the superbowl this year, I am certain I will tuen in, watch it, and enjoy it. Hell, maybe I'll even make a buck or two off of it.Originally posted by The GeneralLot of people unhappy with Pro Bowl this year, but it has been a laugher in the past, too.
