It's probably farve last game in Minny ever! Might as well give the fans a final TD to remember.

#111OK, Vikes stop playing because the Cowboys have stopped playing. Ask the refs to end the game early.

#113Mac, your quote above is 100% spot on and people that talk like HedgeHog and LT Profits are a big part of the problem. That's the problem with the US these days. Everyone has to win even in defeat. God forbid someone actually loses or get's their feelings hurt. This country is turning into a bunch of pussies. A loss is a loss but for some they have to lose with "class"... WTF? Young kids are so fuking weak that if someone rejects them they resort to shooting everyone up. We don't even allow kids to skin their knee's anymore because we think we have to protect them when in fact we're hurting them. Sometimes the best lessons are a good ass kicking. Quit trying to make the Cowboy's some type of fukking victim. They showed more fight AFTER the Vike's scored when they should have backed it up on the field. Grow the fuk up Dallas and all the idiots that talk about class on a damn football field.
Getting that last TD was a big positive for Favre and the receiver that scored and the entire Vikings team along with their fans experienced one more moment of success which capped off a perfect day for them.
This is professional football and NOT the pee-wee league.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, I had the over in the 4th quarter and Favre's TD pass resulted in a win instead of a loss. Kudos to Favre and Minnesota for doing the RIGHT thing and playing hard from start to finish.
Its what the fans and bettors expect.
TBlues, I'm not at all surprised that you objected to this. If you had your way, every NFL team would finish 8-8 with no playoff. San Diego on the money line, NICE!!!Dallas will remember that when they play them again. Revenge is sweet.Comment -

#115Entertainment.Originally posted by LT ProfitsYou guys are missing the point, the game was already over. What purpose does rubbing it in that point serve? Seriously.
Just because a basketball game's outcome has been decided when the Cavs lead the Timberwolves 112-84 w/ 3:00 in the 4th, doesn't mean the Cavs should just stop trying to score all-together. 5-run mercy rules exist in little league baseball, not professional sports. Professional athletes are paid millions to entertain. The Vikings were giving the NFL paying customers what they paid for. Absolutely nothing wrong with that touchdown.Comment -

No I heard what the Cowboys were saying all week and running their mouth. They got what they deserved and it sure showed in the press conference after the game. I don't feel sorry for the Cowboys at all. I actually cannot stand them. I call it a statement touchdown! I say good! I think Dallas did that to someone else earlier. I just feel that the Cowboys will remember this and there will be some bad blood the next time these two play. No I do not wish for a bunch of 8 and 8 teams either sorry.

#125The prudent play would have been to kick the FG. That accomplishes the ultimate goal -- to put the game out of reach -- and does so with at least a little bit of sportsmanship.Comment -

Obviously they can't stop them. So if you're the clearly superior team of the day, do you keep twisting the knife or do you call off the dogs out of sportsmanship?

#132Originally posted by HedgeHogI would've run the ball and turned it over if I didn't get the 3 yards. Passing in that situation was simply rubbing it in. I expect this crap in college, but most pro coaches have a little class.
Exactly, plus it is stupid...WHY would you want to give a team extra incentive for the future when you are both good teams and likely to face each other in important games in the near future?
Originally posted by pavyracerI disagree with the FG kicking. It was 24 points difference. They went for it thinking that Favre will throw the ball if someone was wide open by a mile else throw it out of bounds and give the ball to Dallas.
Shouldn't be throwing the ball PERIOD with less than two minutes, other team having no timeouts and up by 24.
Originally posted by loopydude11there isn't anything wrong with scoring a TD when your in the redzone with 2 mins left. it was 4th down and 3, they chose not to run because they wanted to either get the first down and seal it, or just get the TD and be done.
less than two minutes, other team having no timeouts and up by 24 = not sealed already?
Congrats to Vikings. They put a good ass whippin on Dallas.
The move, however, was classless and unnecessary. The only people who disagree are just Cowboy haters.Comment -

#133I'm just surprised they didn't go for the onsides kick after getting up 5 TD's!!? Why not if you're supposed to go all out and humiliate the other team every chance you get? Why not really kick them in the nuts on national TV in front of their family and friends?
Don't worry guys, most of you will never understand how professionals (in all fields) interact with each other. There was no need to rub their faces in it, it showed more about the Vikes than it did the Cowboys. Favre wanted to pad his stats so he embarrassed the entire organization....... again.Comment -

You just hit the nail on the head. It's a combination though of Cowboy haters and Favre lovers that are trying to justify this atrocity. Trust me had Dallas did the same thing to Favre and crew you would never hear the end of it, he'd be crying the rest of his life (as would most the posters in this thread).Comment -

#136This is very ironic. The meanest team sport on earth where the objective is to deny your opponent from scoring by the implementation of vicious hits is concerned about class. This is football guys. Not tennis..not golf. If you want to see class go watch these sports. That's like asking a golfer to miss a putt if he is up by 10 strokes so that his opponent won't be humiliated.Comment -

#139It was a classless act. The Vikings didn't need the points. The outcome was determnind. It's like stealing a base up 10 runs in the top of the 9th. Run the ball, or if you don't want your rb killed b/c the defense was playing for the run, take a knee.Comment -

Who cares if a player steals a base when his team is up 10 runs in the 9th? Its the opposing teams job to throw the runner out isn't it? Professional players are out there to perform at the highest level they can.Comment
