As I have said in several threads, I like the Jets to cover this spread and the Chargers to win the game, but all the talk about the Jets not belonging on the same field is just plain silly. The Jets are the prototypical playoff team, leading the NFL in defense and in rushing offense this season.
I think Sanchez's inexperience finally bites them in the ass in the end, but I don't see a blowout because the Jets play a style that rarely results in blowouts.Comment -

When the spread first came out, I thought it was about right but still too high to cover..the more I think about it the more the Chargers should cover. Merriman is fully healthy for the first time in 3 years, Hardwick is healthy for the first time all season which will be huge for the SD running game/ball control. I see this being very similar to the 07 wild card game against the Titans (who are comparable to this year's Jets) which was close the whole way (Titans led 6-0 at the half) but the Chargers still won by 11.Comment -

I think the Jets are pretty competitive in this game, but my concern is them being on the road and getting a little desperate in the 4th quarter if they're down 7 to 10 points and Sanchez making a rookie mistake trying to get them back into the game.
I can't ride a rookie QB like Sanchez in this game. I see the Chargers getting a late TD to seal the game by double digits. The Chargers, and all their top-flight talent, will not be denied getting to the AFC Championship game.Comment -
