    watch which teams pull their qb this week
    teams who have pulled their qb in week 17 over the last two years have not faired as well in the playoffs as teams who decided to play their starter the whole game unless he left due to injury (pit in 08 and ten in 07).

    i've gone back and looked at 2008 and 2007 so far. will do 2006 and 2005 tomorrow. if someone wants to go ahead and beat me to it go ahead.

    2008

    nyg eli 19 att ---> 0 wins
    ten collins 2 att ----> 0 wins
    ind manning 7 att ----> 0 wins

    teams who played starting qb full game wk17: sdg, phi, mia, ari, bal, car, min, atl, pit

    SB: Pittsburgh over Arizona

    2007
    jac garrard 0 att ----> 1 win but played pit who also rested wk17
    tam garcia 0 att -----> 0 wins
    sea hasselbeck 22 att -----> 1 win
    gnb favre 11 att -----> 1 win but played sea who also rested wk17
    dal romo 16 att -------> 0 wins
    pit roethlisberger 0 att ----> 0 wins
    sdg rivers 23 att -------> 2 wins but 1 win over ind who also rested wk17
    ind manning 16 att ------> 0 wins

    teams who played starting qb full game wk17: new, nyg, was, ten

    SB: New York over New England

    * blue bold = superbowl appearance
    * orange bold = conference championship appearance

      Good stuff, man.

      Who is pulling their starting QB this weekend? Indy, NE, Cincy, Saints. Others?

      Of those 4 teams, the opponent is not pulling anyone.

        I wouldnt be surprised to see the Vikings give Brett a rest. He's 190 years of age, he could use all the rest he can get.

            ok, I get it.

            Looks like it could help build a good betting strategy once the playoffs start.

            I look forward to any more data that you can dig up on this trend.
