The Broncos will going into San Diego, this time around with one of their best defense since the Superbowl days. They should be able to contain Phillip Rivers and not allow him to pass crazy like previous years. This secondary is much improve with the addition of 3 new veteran starters, all great cover guys in tandem with a fully healthy Champ Bailey. Mike Nolan defensive scheme's appears to be working, giving up only 16 points in the first 3 games, and zero point to both the Patriot and the Cowboy in the 2nd half. An opportunistic defense do not do things this ridiculous on a consistent basis, unless they're good.
Even if Phillip Rivers is to have a good game here, is the Charger defense capable of stopping anyone? They barely beat the lowly Raiders and Pittsburgh ran all over them, something Moreno might do. Kyle Orton for the first time, made me a believer. This guy lead Denver on two long touchdown drives of 90 and 98 yards to beat the Pats. The Patriots game was the first time he had his injured finger glove removed, and he dink and dunk over them for 330 yards. Orton is finally throwing the ball with some zip and accuracy now. He has finally figured out how to use the ever dangerous Eddie Royal and Tony Scheffler, who's been MIA the first 4 games. The Broncos passing game can now complement an already strong running game.
So you got a struggling Chargers offense vs an improve and revamped Denver D. And you got a horrible Chargers defense vs a Broncos offense that is performing beyond anyone expectation, especially me. So why is it so hard to believe that this game will come down to nothing less than a field goal? I see a good game here, and it's should to be close, by a field goal close.
