Why the Falcons will win against the 49ers...
1) Falcons are fresh coming off a bye week.
2) DE John Abraham believes the Falcons won't have problems stopping the run after the bye week. (That is because Frank Gore won't be playing!) Rookie running back Glen Coffee will be stopped easily.
3) RB Jerious Norwood will return to the lineup this week. He adds the element of speed. So Norwood(speed)/Turner(Power) will give the Falcons a dynamic running combo.
4) Falcons have the better Quarterback on the field. QB Matt Ryan has thrown five touchdown passes and just one interception through three games. Hill plays it safe and averages less than 200 yrds a game.
5) 49ers offensive line had trouble against the Rams. Quarterback Shaun Hill was sacked four times. They will continue to struggle.
6) Falcons are coming off a loss and with two weeks of rest will be hungry to get back on the winning track.
Why is the 49ers favorite and line at -2.5?
1) Home field advantage
2) Will have bye week coming up
3) Combination of Falcons being beat down by Patriots and 49ers getting a shut-out victory in their last game makes the line a great spot for Falcons to capitalize.
4) Great Defense.
If you think about it...49ers are a tad overrated thus far.
Week 1: Beating the Cardinals...the cardinals just aren't the same team without Haley making the offensive calls. They were out of sync and 49ers capitalized.
Week2: Seattle...QB hasselback got injured and seahawks just isn't a good team
Week3: Did you really think the Vikings really put out their A game considering they had Packers the following week? They were getting beat until that lucky punt block return to TD.
Week4: The winless rams starting a back-up QB. At the moment I don't see a worse team than the Rams. Only 24 pts in 4 games??? Holy shit. Lowest in NFL.
Falcons with wins against Dolphins and Panthers doesn't say much either, but even after getting beat bad against the Patriots, they are a very good team.
If you looked back when the season began, you would have never predicted the Falcons to be underdogs in this game.
Even though it isn't a huge edge, the Falcons will be hungrier and more motivated for that W. If you wanna play it safe, move it up to +3.
I haven't checked out the other games in depth, but this was one game that I don't mind putting $ on. If the 49ers can overcome the elements I've explained above, I'll be at ease with my loss.
Good luck and GodSpeed
