Opened at Vikings -3.5 now seeing it at -4.5 and having around 78% of public bettors believing they will cover the spread.
Motivation Factor:
-Packers are licking their chops hoping to get their hands on Favre. I believe they have a bigger flame lit under them. We all know that Favre really wants to beat his old team, but Aaron Rodgers has a lot to prove on the line also. Favre is super motivated, but I can't say the same with the rest of his team. With also the pack men having the bye week coming up, I see nothing less than A+ effort.
QB Protection:
-Packers offensive line has given up 10 sacks first 2 games. LT Chad Clifton, responsible to protect Rodgers blind side, is a game-time decision. His backup has struggled so far and either guy will be going up against the always dangerous, Jared Allen. In last years match, the Vikings knocked Rodgers down at least 10 times and recorded 4 sacks, but barely came away with only a 1 pt victory. The two William guys will also cause havoc.
Defense:
-Al Harris, Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams provide better pass defense, but Vikings always sport one of the top stop-run defenses in the league. Will Rodgers play action work if they can't run?
I don't trust the Vikings secondary and if Rodgers has time to throw, the offense will not be easily stopped.
At the moment, I would trust Rodgers more than Favre. Could his hatred be a detriment and cause him to make mistakes? Maybe we will see Favre picking his old team apart and proving himself and everyone he still has it, or will we see an aging 40-year-old Favre lose grip to reality and trying too hard to win.
