The Eagles also welcomed veteran running back Ron Dayne to Philadelphia on March 15. Dayne, who spent last season with the Houston Texans, would give the Eagles the complementary back they're seeking to go along with Brian Westbrook.

"I know Westbrook's the man right now," Dayne said. "I'll compete with him if I come here, just play hard and do what they ask -- whatever they need me to do."

Dayne had 612 yards rushing and five TDs while averaging 4.1 yards per carry for the Texans. A former first-round pick, the 29-year-old Dayne played five seasons with the Giants and one season in Denver..

I guess they couldn't come to terms, I was under the impression he was locked in.

Patriots are making a lot of free agency moves this year. If you look at the cap numbers, they aren't really breaking the bank either. They've just got so much cap space, they can freewheel a little in free agency. Especially with so many teams with their backs to the wall in terms of the salary cap. Take note on how many of the other NFL teams are falling in line, one by one, with the Patriots way of business.

There is a pretty good chance they draft Anthony Gonzalez WR from Ohio State at the end of the first round. Hes going to make a very good WR in the NFL

                  Actionbrett,

Are they really going after another WR? They just signed Welker, Stallworth & Washington. Jackson will be back. What about Gaffney & Caldwell? Is Gabriel still around? That's a buttload of WRs. If they draft a WR in the first round, I expect Stallworth to get cut before he gets his first paycheck.
