Can someone please remind me when Jerry Jones became the head of scheduling for the NFL. In the first two weeks his Cowboys get 2 high-profile home night games. I don't care how much that damn stadium cost, it's an unfair advantage. Especially when you consider that because it's a "tradition", the Cowboys also get to host a Thanksgiving Day game every season. Between the short week and traveling, the opposing team annually has no time to prepare for this game. It's bullshit.
Being that it's the NFL, I'm going to toss last week's results into the trash and make the following plays on Sunday....
PHILLY -7- against K.C. CHIEFS
I realize the Eagles are completely dinged up but I seriously believe their practice squad could beat these Chiefs. The Eagles got embarrassed last week by the juggernaut known as the Saints. With a bye on deck, and Vick set to make his first appearance, I see the Eagles bringing their 'A' game today and trouncing KC.
CLEVELAND +13- at BALTIMORE
Gonna take it as a strong "buy" signal that the Browns have taken to fighting in their own locker room. Maybe, just maybe, their sick and tired of playing like crap. It's the NFL and it's an important division game, so I like the generous points.
OAKLAND +2 against DENVER
Definitely not sold on Jamarcus Russell and this anemic Raiders offense, but we've definitely seen some marked improvement in their Seymour-rejuvenated D. Realize the Broncos have managed to get out of the gate 2-0, but I say the buck stops here. Oakland wins.
TENNESSEE +2 at NEW YORK JETS
Gotta side with the 0-2 Titans in a must-win game against the surprising Jets who still have champagne on their breath after last week's bullying of the Pats. Sanchez has played well so far but I don't think the Jets have the offensive arsenal to trade blows with a desperate Titans team.
SAN DIEGO -5- against MIAMI
Tough scheduling spot for the Dolphins, who got their hearts broken Monday night, then had to travel cross-country on a short week to play against a Chargers team still kicking themselves after last week's loss to the Ravens. On Monday night, the Dolphins exposed themselves as an offensively limited squad. I think they're in for a long season. The Chargers win easily.
As always, best of luck.
