It's a ballsy bet to go with the Browns here. Favre, T-Jack, it doesn't matter; the Vikings are a much better team than the Browns. This game shouldn't even be close in my opinion. Also the fact Mangini couldn't manage an ant farm, leaves little to be desired on betting on his team. Best of luck to all those who take them though!

I bought the line up to -5.5 for vikings. Thought that was the best value for the play on the vikings. Cleveland is just a mess, I don't see how they can keep it close, unless peterson fumbles the ball on his own 20 a couple of times. This won't be a high scoring game, but I also don't see Cleveland scoring more then 13 points at best. Cleveland 3-13 points; Minnesota 10-31 points (solid around 20-24).

      Final score 21-10, Minnesota wins.

I started capping this season in JUNE.

As far as the game goes, I agree with woddy and slacker. MINN will win this game, possibly by double digits. The browns pre-season win over TENN holds no wait. This is a bad team.
if only the better team always won/covered and betting were as simple as saying which team is good and which team is bad. kind of reminds me of the season opener vs dallas though. dallas was favored by 3.5(?) vs cleveland at cleveland...people said it was too good to be true so jumped on browns...dallas ended up covering easily.

Yeah, I'm kinda hot and cold on Mangini, but mostly cold. I do think that Mangini has the capacity to cook up a game plan that will negate Favre's effectiveness. Problem is that Favre really isn't the thing to worry about. I mean, seriously, Peterson is a much bigger threat as well as the running game in general behind this Vikings line. Even then, the Vikings defense might very well outscore the Browns offense! Seriously. Favre couldn't have hand picked a better way to start out his career with the Vikings. It's basically a preseason game. We might every well see TJack in the 4th quarter because it will be so lopsided.

Moving across the 3 is the biggest number you can move across in the NFL. Moving completely through the 3 is about the same as going from -7 to -13. So, it's deceptive to say it's "only" 1.5 points. It's almost worth a touchdown to move through that number depending where the line is sitting.

I agree with your assessment of the Vikings/Browns.

But Denver? Denver was nothing but smoke, mirrors and Cutler the last few years. Now they don't have Cutler. Watch this team implode. They just don't have enough talent on defense. This team is years away from even being .500.

Nothing in the NFL is a gimme. If you bet this sport long enough you might get one or two gimme every season before losing every single one. Minnesota should not be favor in this game on the road, with a Quarterback that is still not nsync with the offense. Preseason is one thing, but this is forreal and the Brown were a decent team last year. Brady should be playing alot more better, thanks to some of the experience he gain last year. This should be a 3 point game, in my opinion.
