Can I ask why? 4 characters don't help much. I am all over PIT -5.5 and the over looks tempting, but with Pit's defense and Tennessee's lack of passing attack doesn't lend itself to a high scoring affair.

Take Tenn +5.5, Pitts SB hangover. Tenn matches up well.

Take the over. 35 pts is nothing. Both offenses can put points on the board. Plus major prime time games like this tend to go over.

Any team that could possibaly make Rothlisbergrer throw 40 times and getting 5.5 points has to be the side to take. Tenn running game is better. Tenn secondary is just as good as Pitts. Tenn run defense is still very good. Tenn will be plus in turnovers. On a neutral field in a non season opener this would be -1 line or something. I think this line should be at -4 where it opened. I won't play this game unless it +7 but thats a different story.

If the towel stompping factors in for you capping this game I will give you my phone number and will book all your bets at +102 for the season.

I'm going to stay away from that O/U but if you got pit -5.5 that's a great bet!

                for the guy 474

This was writeh by PLAYING THE JUICE
This game also features a "Revenge Factor". The Steelers traveled to Tennessee in the 2008 season, where the Titans won. But taking it to far were the Titans, who during the game stomped on "Terrible Towels" on the sidelines. The Steelers and the Steelers fans I am sure have not forgotten this, and the home field advantage plays huge into the favor of the Steelers. Also the Steelers last 3 season openers, they have won the games easily, cruising to wins by 10 points or more. And the same type of writings all over the football blogs

Well I am staying away from the totals. I have a strong lean toward the over, and may throw a small bet on at the last second, but nothing at this point.

Here is the writeup I made for my thread.

Tennessee Titans @ Pittsburgh Steelers (PIT -5.5)

                        1 unit play

Recent history has our back on this one (See quote below). The 5.5 seems like a big line this early, but this game shouldn't be within a TD. Since 2001 Superbowl winners have been (6-1-1) ATS week 1. This year should be no different. Tennessee got a great deal of its games last year based on Defense and running the ball, this week the Titans will truly learn what the absence of Albert Haynesworth is going to do to their defense and Chris Johnson and Lendale White will have their hands full against the a Pittsburgh defense who only allowed 80.2 yards per game on the ground last year.

This should be a game dominated by the defenses, the big difference is that Pitt still has the ability to move the ball and put up points, while Tennessee's run centered offense will fall behind early and have a hard time catching up. Look for Big Ben and company to pile on early and then grind the game down keeping Tennessee's defense on the field and Chris Johnson on the sideline. Albert Haynesworth left a huge hole in the middle of Tennessee's defensive line and the Pit runningbacks should find enough room not to allow Tennessee into the game.

Pitt had a total of 71 rushing yds in their last meeting and Hansworth didn't play in that game either. Tenn was +4 on turnovers in thier last meeting and I don't think that will happen again, but I don't see eiither team with red zone dominance. 20-16 , 16-13, 19-13 a heavy field goal score.
