If Cable was smart, he would start Garcia. He is a smart, tough, and motivating qb. The Raiders will go nowhere with Russell.

Are the Raiders a Super Bowl team with Garcia in there? No. Not even close.
You have to start Russell. If he has a terrible year, you know that you need to start looking for other options moving forward. If he does well, you know you have a QB in him.
Starting Garcia teaches you nothing, and even if he does well, the team isn't good enough to go anywhere and there is no future with him.
Russell had a very respectable rookie campaign, and deserves his shot this year. Garcia starting would be a complete disaster for the Raiders.Comment -
