This ties out to the Justin Tucker thread. So, two questions:

1) Do u think Tucker is the best kicker ever?

Start with the All-time 22. 11 Off starters, 11 Def starters, plus a Punter, Kicker, and Return Specialist.

2) Other than Tucker, do u consider any ACTIVE player to be the best ever at his position? Worthy of the all-time 25?

Tucker is the best I've seen in my lifetime. Vinatieri was great too but Tucker is more consistent and is damn near automatic regardless of the distance.

Brady is obviously the QB GOAT.

I'd have to think about the rest of the league but off the top of my head, I don't think any other active player is the best ever at his position.

My 1st answer on this = Near Misses.

*I rate JJ Watt as a Near-miss at Def End. 3x Def POY, over 100 sks, he's going to be a HOFer. Missed most of three seasons b/c of injury.

Can't imagine he has that much left. He will wind up short of the Reggie White/Deacon Jones level.

I would say Aaron Donald is making a strong case for best DT ever. This is his 8th season. He has been a 6X All-Pro and 7X Pro Bowler. Led the league in sacks with 20.5 from DT and should get close to 100 career sacks by the end of the year.

I can see tucker yes. maybe darnold also. 100 sack isnt a baromter anymore but from the inside as darnold is its much more special. brady no for me, pats won despite brady, they had a good record when he had bad games which is telling. brady is the greatest qb ever because that means accomplishments. best? to me, no. Id say mahomes or rodgers before brady. like I didnt need to see steph nor klay play 10 years before I said they are 1 and 2 as best ever shooters I dont need to see mahomes play for 10 seasons either to say such. but Im gonna wait a little bit longer.
