Hill named starting QB in SF
I'm glad he got the job. He did really well last year. SF will be interesting to watch this year.

I'm not so sure that this is a good thing. Granted, Alex Smith was just a bad draft choice, but I have yet to understand why the Niners haven't figured out their continual quarterbacking problem. Ever since Garcia was run out of town, they've had nothing but mediocre professionals under center. It's time to get a real QB and take my Niners to the Super Bowl!

Yeah, they can definitely do better than Hill, but he's the best they got for now.

Agree with ya Bogart...really thought the job should have been his to start last season as well. He won't be asked to put up gaudy numbers at all...just manage the game and don't make critical mistakes. The running game should be great with Gore/Coffee. All boils down to the defense though which I expect to do fairly well this season.

The 49ers need pass rush and QB protection, they had the worst sack differential in the league last season. They need to improve dramatically in those 2 phases or the starting QB is really meaningless.

The problem is that the Niners don't want to spend a lot on free agent quarterbacks yet until the team as a whole lifts itsself up.; At that time the quarterback will be the missing piece. And if they falter, I see a qb in the draft coming up rather quickly. Kind of mind boggling that they didn't go after Sage Rosenfelds who is better than anyone they can put on the field. There was some talk stirring about Vick and I believe it will be revisited in next summer when he has an option. By then the dog shit will be forgotten and he will be ahot commodity again. With the Niners playing well this year, he would be a diamond on the band to seal the deal if both parties play decent enough this year to warrant interest fronm the other
