    Broncos +1.5 at Niners
Preseason games are meaningless, but I see McDaniels playing with something to prove here. He wants to get his first NFL win ever as a head Coach. I also think the Broncos 3rd String QB Tom Brandstater can run this offense in the 2nd Half, if he plays and he's good enough to lead this team to victory vs whoever the 49er 3rd stringer is.

Hard to say. I hear Singletary has been running a very intense camp. 49-ers ended last season strong and somehow I doubt that this guy will not want to continue that line in the first preseason game.

If there's an NFL head coach out there who cares more about winning his first game in the preseason than developing and scouting his players then he shouldn't be a coach. Wins in the preseason are meaningless and coaches are well aware of this.

I agree with you, but the perception that comes with a win among the media, fans, and players, however slight, is still measurable, especially with a first year coach or a team that was on the wrong end last year; that they are on the right track, confidence building; for some a win in the preseason may be one of the few they get this year.
