Ok guys, so ncaa reg season over. So by popular demand I’ll cave and try this for nfl rest of season and see how it goes. In case ya havnt heard I have stunk it up in nfl this year! It has gotten somewhat better the last month so hoping I’ve maybe turned the corner and at least seeing it decently now. Or just had some dumb luck go my way lately? Who knows, you be the judge! Maybe I’ll be a good fade, maybe I have got things going, or maybe ya’ll can help me out!!! If these threads half as good the college threads I’ll be ecstatic!
As tradition carried over from the ncaa I’ll jump things off with a play or 6, pretty much whatever I’ve played to this point or if no plays just where I’m leaning. Here we go:
Saints -2.5
So there basically 3 maybe 4 teams in nfc that could get to SB IMO, 2 of them are playing this game and we get the home team without having to lay the fg? I think most of us have come to conclusion HFA isn’t simply worth the standard 3 any longer, many home fields not worth the fg while some others worth little more., Certainly we can agree saints home field one the better ones that warrants at least a fg if not slightly more., so based off that assumption we calling niners at least -1 on neutral? I disagree with this. I think these teams are incredibly even so not having to pay for HFA here I think has some value.
Saints match up better with niners than I think some realize. You can run on the niners and saints have long since been more a rushing team than they get credit for. Interestingly enough the saints haven’t been churning out the rushing attempts lately (kumara been out lot of that imo). but Peyton a very good coach and there no way he isn’t looking at film knowing he has to get the run game going to protect his aging HOF qb vs that sick pass rush! Look at niners opponents yards per rush the last 9 weeks. I’ll skip some but just in a nutshell packers 4.2, cards over 5 and over 6 ypc! Seattle 4.3, Browns 5.7, rams 5 par carry. Point is you can run at this niners defense. I also think this the kind of game losing kwan Alexander as he could help contain kumara.
So if we can agree saints match up physically then consider the spot. Niners had to go to balty in the rain and play one of the most physical games we have seen all year now they going back on road to face another tough team in a tough environment! I’m not a huge trend guy but I’ll give you one anyways. Last 15 times saints have hosted a team with a .800 or better win percentage? 14-1 ats!! Imo these teams neck and neck but we getting better spot, with a great home field, and paying no premium? I’m usually a saints hater mostly cause we usually have to pay extra to play therm and that not my style. In this case we gettin a freakin discount!! Sign me up as saints “we got cheated last year” SB tour takes one step closer to HFA throughout playoffs.
Ravens/bills under 44
what nobody talks bout w Ravens is how extremely great their defense compliments their offense., That secondary is nasty so they blitz like crazy. You only get about 8-9 possessions in a game if you lucky vs them!!!
They get home with a blitz and put you behind the sticks and presto, there goes one your possessions. Next time they force a turnover and shit another possession out the window. Next thing you know it halftime and you had the ball 3 times!! Now you start pressing. And the whole time their offense is leaning on you harder and harder as your d wears down.
So my question is how the Fukk bills gonna score cause their wrs outside John brown not scaring anyone. Ravens will clog the middle to take Beasley out and go man across rest of board while bringing heat! Is Allen ready for that?? He is a big strong kid, maybe his wheels will get them out some trouble? If you like bills you gotta like under imo. It gotta be a game played at 20 or below for them to have a shot imo.
Both teams gonna look to shorten this game. Very few possessions, chilly, windy. And at 44 even if this tied at 20 we can still come in with a winning fg. I think this a game both run games are they way to attack as the conditions combined with these pass defenses neither these teams gonna throw much imo.
